EI Activity Day

Today is EI Activity Day and we hope that the bands are taken over
by Echo India stations as in previous years.

Activity on 80 metres should centre around 3.670MHz and all
stations are asked to call in to the WAI net to activate their
square.

Later today, 20 metres should allow many contacts with North
American stations where demand for EI counties is huge.

At the usual first Wednesday of the month meeting of the Tipperary
Group in Cashel, Ian EI6GY of the South Eastern Amateur Radio

i.e. the operation of a cinema projection room.

Ian, who is a projectionist in Waterford City, provided a very
interesting presentation supported by items old and new from
projection rooms and was plyed with many questions by the
listeners. The meeting was well attended with over twenty members
present.

Congratulations to Eddie Kavanagh who received his new call,
EI3FFB recently.

Today, a group of Tipperary members will climb the Monavullagh
Range of mountains in County Waterford. Look out for them on

New Members Handbook

A new members handbook is being prepared. This includes a call
listing.

Anyone wishing to update their call details should write
immediately to Joe Ryan EI7GY at his call book address.

Also, Joe is now in a position to use the sineadh fada in Irish
names and addresses in the callbook and in the newsletter address
labels. Joe's Irish is a bit rusty, so he asks that those who use
Irish names write to him giving their name and address, complete
with sineadh fada characters.
