THE PHONETIC "Pop-Up" DICTIONARY ON A DISK
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Greetings - from Jorj Software.
June 1996 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alpha / Omega

We are proud to bring you this double edition of our dictionary.
Requires full IBM compatability, MS/DOS and Hard Disk.

These sample versions of our dictionary are released as FreeWare.
This package is made available without cost so that you may test
drive the programs on your machine before making a decision to buy.
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+

In addition to this (README.TXT) file, this distribution package
also contains the files: INSTALL.COM, JORJPAK.EXE.

After installation on your hard disk, which is made automatic
with the INSTALL routine, the JORJ directory will contain-
ALPHA.DOC The Alpha program documentation
ALPHA.EXE The Alpha driver program
OMEGA.DOC The Omega program documentation
OMEGA.EXE The Omega driver program
NOTES.TXT Additional information and order form
JORJ.DAT The dictionary database

INSTALL will create the directory \JORJ and load it with the above
mentioned files. This will be the default directory used by Jorj.
The usual condition would be to have a single pair of files for the
.EXE and .DOC files and the names would be JORJ.EXE and JORJ.DOC.
Therefore, the body of the documentation will refer to the executable
program as "JORJ" rather than "ALPHA" or "OMEGA". Also, you could
differentiate between the two version by creating another subdirectory
to hold the OMEGA files. Then both pairs of DOC files and EXE files
could be renamed as JORJ.DOC and JORJ.EXE. The database file JORJ.DAT
is common to both programs and may not be renamed.

PROCEED WITH THE INSTALLATION AS FOLLOWS:

From the directory containing the distribution files type:
INSTALL A: C:

Where A: is the SOURCE drive (floppy or fixed) and
C: is the TARGET drive (hard disk).

NOTE: If your drives are designated differently,
then use the APPROPRIATE LETTERS.
Also, if SOURCE is a subdirectory then you
must use the full pathname (drive\pathname).

Thank you and may you enjoy your new dictionary.
