Welcome to WorldTime v3  1996 D R Godson
=============================================

WorldTime is new desktop applet from ChilLiSoft Products. WorldTime is e-mailware, which means its FREE provided you register it with me by e-mail at 'dgo@easynet.co.uk'. Please also register version updates.

WorldTime provides a graphical interface to access real clock time in over 300 worldwide locations.

WorldTime automatically takes daylight saving into account so you know that the displayed time is correct.

When you first run WorldTime you will be required to set your home timezone (this can be later changed at any time if necessary). However, WorldTime does this by country, not by timezone, and so provides access to timezones and places which Windows 95 does not (eg Nepal GMT+5.45). NB/ when running, WorldTime takes over the management of daylight saving on your computer and will prevent the timezone or daylight saving option being altered through Control Panel (try it!).

WorldTime is transparent in use and displays its icon within the taskbar notification area to avoid cluttering up the taskbar. When you pass your cursor over the icon the time and name of the selected country/region is displayed.

Enhancements over version 2
---------------------------

Due to the addition of many user configurable options the registry format had to be rewritten and so you will need to enter your home country data again. I hope this to be the last time this happens!

- Right-click context menu added to map to allow changing of map colours and scroll speed. The colour of the icons in the country list is also updated to reflect any changes.

- Right-click context menus added to time/date readouts to allow changing of colours and time display format.

- Facility to search WorldTime for a specific country. This facility also has been added to the 'Set Home Country' dialog.

You should have the following files once you have unzipped worldtm3.zip:

   ReadMeFirst.txt - this file
   WorldTime.exe - WorldTime's executable file

To install WorldTime simply copy WorldTime.exe to your prefered destination folder and then create a shortcut to WorldTime.exe in your Startup folder to start WorldTime automatically when you switch your computer on.

note : To run the applet you will now also need a copy of mfc40.dll in your windows/system folder. If you do not have a copy you can download a copy from ChilLiSoft's home page at http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~dgo, where you will also find other ChilLiSoft products.

WorldTime is very straightforward in use, but should you have any queries or problems contact me by e-mail at the above address. I also welcome any suggestions for further enhancements.

I look forward to hearing from you soon
