WHAT IS QUICKDESK?
------------------

QuickDesk is a Windows 95 utility designed to mimic the ability found in
previous versions of Microsoft Windows to Alt-Tab to the Desktop
(Program Manager). When run, QuickDesk is available through use of the
Alt-Tab keys, or by clicking on its icon on the Task Bar. QuickDesk has
been programmed to run permanently while in Windows, however it can be
closed by using the Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys, then selecting "QuickDesk", and
clicking on the "End Task" button.

QuickDesk is freely distributable shareware.

ADDITIONAL FILE REQUIRED TO INSTALL AND RUN QUICKDESK
-----------------------------------------------------

To successfully install and run QuickDesk, the Visual Basic run-time file
VB40032.DLL must be installed on your computer. The VB40032.DLL file is
not included as part of the installation, as it is a file common to 32-bit
programs such as QuickDesk, and so therefore only has to been installed
once. The VB40032.DLL file can be downloaded from many BBSs and the
Internet, including ftp.digital.com, and many Shareware sites. The file
should be placed in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM)
before attempting to install QuickDesk.

HOW TO INSTALL QUICKDESK
------------------------

To install QuickDesk, execute the file SETUP.EXE. This will start the
QuickDesk installation program, which will install the QuickDesk files in
a chosen folder and add a shortcut to the QuickDesk program in the Startup
folder. If you received the QuickDesk program in a zipped archive file
(e.g. QUIKDSK2.ZIP), then the zip file must first be un-compressed, before
the SETUP.EXE file can be executed.

WHATS NEW IN VERSION 2.0
-------------------------

Version 2.0 has introduced two main changes to previous versions of
QuickDesk. The algorithm (procedure for solving a problem) was redesigned,
as previous versions would not minimize some windows.
The second important change is the removal of the custom control for
entering the registration number. This was replaced with a standard text
box, reducing the zipped QuickDesk archive by approximately 41kb, and
saving on down-load cost.
