INTRODUCTION
------------
TrayIcon Works is a utility which displays the current month, day
of the month, and date of the week in the System Tray of the Taskbar.
You can select to display all these three items or any combination
in any order you wish (ideal for foreign users who use different
date format than the U.S standard). This comes in handy when you
need to know the date immediately. Sure, you could leave the mouse
over the digital clock in the lower right corner of the icon tray,
and wait a couple of seconds, but I found it's not too inconvinient.
It's nice to see the date/time at a glance any given time.

TrayIcon Works also allows you to quickly launch Explorer from any
folder of your choice or quickly open a DOS window (for those of you
who are still nostagic of the venerable DOS commands) with a single
mouse click. You can further launch a default DOS command processor
(COMMAND.COM) or any other shell (such as NDOS). Simply type the
name of the desired command processor in the "Command Shell" box or
use the file list box to search for one.

What else? with TrayIcon Works, you can instantly launch your
default screen saver (in case you're away from your PC and want to
invokde a password-protected screen saver so no one can peek at what
you're doing...) with without having to wait for the elapsed time or
move your mouse pointer to a certain position of the screen (certain
screen savers allow you to position your mouse pointer at any of the
4 corners of the screen to instantly invoke the default screen saver).

You can also put all your frequently used programs in the system tray
for quick and easy access.

TrayIcon Works is also capable of sending keystrokes or contents of
a file to any window by pressing F1-F12 funtion keys.

Everything is always right there and accessible with a single mouse
click. What a handy set of utilities. I hope you agree with me.

HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
------------------------------
Hardware Requirements
PC compatibles (a 486 or better is recommended).

Software Requirements
	Microsoft Windows 95.

NOTE: TrayIcon Works was primarily designed for Windows 95 and
will not function properly under Windows NT 4.xx.

---------
OPERATION
---------
The date function is pretty self-explanatory and you probably don't
need much instruction on how to use it. Simply launch the software
and the current month, date of the month, and day of the week will
appear to the left of the digital clock in the system tray. If you
wish to display only the month, day of the month, and/or date of
the week, simply right click on the date icons to bring up the
custom menu. There you can select which item(s) to display.

With TrayIcon Works, you can quickly launch Explorer or a DOS window
with a single mouse click. You can even make Explorer start from any
folder, simply type in the full folder drive and path in the "Start
Folder" box or use the provided directory navigator (the yellow folder)
to select the desired start folder. Similarly, you can start a DOS
window in any directory, simply type in the full drive and path in the
"Default Path" box or use the provided directory navigator to select the
the desired start directory.

You can define up to 70 icons (if you need that many and your system tray
is long enough for them...) for 70 different programs. You can even
define parameters for each of those programs. For example, you can define
an icon to launch Notepad and open a document with a single mouse click.

The 2nd major function of TrayIcon Works is the ability to send a
series of keystrokes to most windows (notice that I say *most*
because TrayIcon Works may not work with certain windows. Each of the
12 function keys has a drop down list box with 4 lines (normal, shift,
control, and alt) that you can enter text into. Clicking on one of the
option buttons to the left of the drop down list boxes switching between
one of these 4 key states (clicking on the key label themselves for
normal mode).

CR
If you want to add a carriage return at the end of the keystrokes.

Wait
If you want TrayIcon Works send the keystrokes to a window then wait
until it finishes. Usually, you don't need to check this box because
it's slow. But if for some reason the macros don't work, then try
   checking this box.

Clipboard
You can send the keystrokes to a window directly or via the clipboard.
Sending keystrokes via the clipboard is much faster than sending
directly but if the macros don't work on certain window, then try
   unchecking this option.

Send File.
Sending the defined text file instead of the defined keystrokes. The
text file can be specified by clicking on the "File Name" button.

The macro function has been tested with NotePad for Windows 95, TextPad
1.30 (32-bit Edition), Winword 7.0, Microsoft Exchange 4.0, Netscape
3.0, and Eurora Pro 3.0).
