S.C.I.M. is an inventory management system designed to
manage and evaluate a sports card collection. S.C.I.M.
includes pre-defined card data for baseball, football, and
basketball - you merely indicate how many copies of each
card your collection includes. Or, if you prefer, you can
create additional, customized sets as needed. As you add
cards, S.C.I.M. will enable you to analyze your collection
with a variety of flexible reports.

S.C.I.M. will run on any IBM PC or 100% compatible using
DOS version 3.3 or above. A minimum 640K RAM and a hard
disk are required. A 132 column printer is necessary for
the full range of printed reports. An 80286 or better
microprocessor and extended memory are highly recommended.

In order to use S.C.I.M., you will need (at a minimum) the
       following files:

             MAKER.DAT - Contains data for pre-defined sets
CUSTOM.DAT - Contains data for custom sets
CUSTOM.K01 - Contains data for custom sets
             SCIM.CFG - A configuration file
             SCIM.INI - Another configuration file
             SCIM.HLP - A help file
SCIMHELP.TXT - Contains data for help screens
             SCIM.EXE - The program file
             SCIM.DOC - The User's Guide
             OEDER.FRM - An order form
???????.DAT - At least one data file

These files are contained in two self-extracting archives.
S.C.I.M. can be installed on any system as outlined below:

We will assume that you will use Drive A to install the
program on Drive C. If this is not the case, you will
need to substitute the appropriate drive letters.
First, you will need to create a directory for the
S.C.I.M. program files. Type the following, remembering
to press ENTER after typing each line:

               c: <Press ENTER>
               cd \ <Press ENTER>
               md scim <Press ENTER>
               cd scim <Press ENTER>

Now, place the S.C.I.M. program disk into Drive A and
         type:

               a:sc <Press ENTER>

Various files will then be loaded onto your disk. Next,
you will need to create a directory for the S.C.I.M.
         data files. Type the following:

               md data <Press ENTER>
               cd data <Press ENTER>

Now, place the S.C.I.M. data disk into Drive A and type:

               a:data <Press ENTER>

A number of S.C.I.M. data files will be copied into the
         data directory.

After you have successfully loaded the program and data
files, you can start S.C.I.M. by typing:

                              SCIM

If the program has been properly installed, the Main
         Menu screen should appear.
