                      AUDITOR'S COMPANION SUITE

The Auditor's Companion Suite is comprised of
             four primary applications:

                            Address Book
                            Employee Payroll
                            Math Applications
                            Rental Facility Computations

Each of the programs, include their own "help
files"; "ALLHELP.TXT" contains all help files.

Hopefully, the software will be an added
asset to your computer applications and help
to expedite the time spent, while performing
             Auditing Functions.

Although many of the functions may execute
independent of one another, it is only within
the "OSUITE" menu will they be fully operative.

For the creation of a directory for "The
               Auditor's Companion Suite", type the
               following:

               cd\ <goes to root directory>
               md\osuite <make OSUITE directory>
               cd\osuite <change to OSUITE directory>

               copy A:\*.* C:\OSUITE <ENTER>

The above command copies all files from the
disk found within "A drive", to the newly
created "OSUITE" directory. If your disk
drive has an alternate letter, substitute
it with the preceding command request.

Repeat above command with all disks.

After all files have been transferred to the
               "OSUITE" directory, type "OSUITE" <ENTER>

              * The "AUDITOR'S COMPANION SUITE" Applications
were created on an EPSON XT - IBM Compatible

There is no ERROR checking on any of the above

                  GENERAL INFORMATION - BRIEF OVERVIEW

              * ALPHABETIZATION : The program has been
designed so that once inputted, a listing will
               automatically create an alphabetical listing
of the information which has been provided to
               the file.

If two identical last names are inputted to
the system, the listing provided will not
               necessarily be alphabetically correct.

An attempt has been made to assist the USER
with a "MAILING LIST", which can be
printed to labels. The formatting and or
implementation of this aspect (if desired)
has been left up to the USER.

                  GENERAL INFORMATION - BRIEF OVERVIEW

              * Deletion of file  :

Deletion can only be implemented by LAST NAME
entry. For a more detailed description and
                its functionalities cross reference the

This TEXT file. For the printing of this
                file; request printing file "a-help.txt".

To view file, the data must initially be
                "loaded". After inputting address
information, the most recently entered DATA
may be viewed and need not be "re-loaded".

To read and or view the file, the USER must
either read it from within the .EXE file or
utilize a program which reads "binary"

As this function indicates, the "addresses"
will be printed to PRINTER. USER must "load"
file again, even if it has previously been
"loaded". Once the address file has

                  GENERAL INFORMATION - BRIEF OVERVIEW

After inputting information to "Address Book",
and exiting properly, address data file
                will be automatically saved.

A key point to remember when performing
"deletions". Once a deletion has been
implemented, unless the file is "(RE)SAVED"
prior to exiting, the previously saved
"address file" will still be present.

The AUDITOR'S COMPANION SUITE "Address Book",
has four primary files included within its
              software applications.

Three of the files are .EXE files; the latter
is a TEXT file which may either be typed to
screen and or printed to printer.

This software application was not initially
created to be an "all purpose address
application". Although it may be adequate
for some users, (if used properly); it also
has some deficiencies, of which some have
              been notated.

            * SEARCH/FIND : Has no capabilities of doing an
extensive search/find with usage of .* and or
locating a NAME by the inputting of just a few
letters of a given listing. IN ATTEMPTING
TO LOCATE A SPECIFIC ENTRY, the USER may omit
FIRST & MIDDLE NAMES. The requested "name
search", may be entered in either upper or
              lower case.

                   GENERAL INFORMATION - IMPROVEMENTS

              * DELETE : This function has been designed to
delete by "Last Name". Although this should
not pose a problem to some, it should be
mentioned that "double" names are not taken
into account. For instance, say that two
individuals have been entered into the
"address file" by the name of Smith.

Although all other applications would be
operative, a request for DELETION of"Smith"
would perform the deletion of the first "Smith"
encountered; this may not be the Smith deletion
desired. As long as there is some type of way
to decipher each specific Name in the listing
it would work. ie/If the USER kept track of
how many NAMES a specific listing had, they
                could notate them as such...Smith1...Smith2.
By the same token, it should be notated that
the SEARCH function has this similar deficiency.

                   GENERAL INFORMATION - TROUBLE SHOOTING

              * Should you experience "white flashes" when
going from menu to items, the problem is
induced by the ANSI COLOR Environment. To
alleviate the problem, USER must modify their
                color environment, bypass "colorset" commands,
and or .EXE files and enter program directly.

              * MONOCHROME adapters are not supported within
                this software application. Although all
                functions will be operative, UNDERLINING
occurs when BRIGHTWHITE functions are used.
Should you be using monochrome, rely on the
"QUICK ACCESS KEYS" for program requests.

              * CURSOR OFF AT EXITING - Data files have
been designed to be implemented within the
primary .EXE file; typing "cc" or "cls"
<ENTER> should restore cursor to environment.

have been taken to return colors to the USER'S
                original format; REBOOTING/or CLS computer

                proper implementation of "Address Book",

Some degree of "Memory Allocation" has
been incorporated within the program. For
                individuals experiencing this problem, try
utilizing option one of MENU: "Enter Name"

a factor...."SAVE" more than regular. To
SAVE a file takes very little time and effort.
Once receiving a Memory Allocation ERROR, the
USER will not have the option for saving file,
and the data inputted will have been lost.

USER inputs numeric values to be computated
and averaged. Once input has been completed,
the entire listing which has been provided
for calculation, will be displayed with the

.EXE files and enter Payroll directly.

             * MONOCHROME adapters are not supported within
               this software application. Although all
               functions will be operative, UNDERLINING
occurs when BRIGHTWHITE functions are used.
Should you be using monochrome, rely on the
"QUICK ACCESS KEYS" for program requests.

been designed to be implemented within the
primary .EXE file; typing "cc" or "cls"
<ENTER> should restore cursor to environment.

have been taken to return colors to the USER'S
               original format; REBOOTING/or CLS computer
commands should also reset the former colors.

Proper EXITING may be implemented with the
following keys: Xx, Qq, ESC, F1, F3, OR F10

The MATH.EXE FILE is the only FILE which will
advance to the MAIN MENU automatically. After
               proper implementation of "Math Assistant",
the program will continue without prompting
by the USER to menu choices. Advancement,
and or choices are frequently created by
USER'S depression of the <ENTER> key; pressing
<ENTER> twice, may induce unwanted results.

The RENTALS.EXE FILE is the only FILE which
advances to the MAIN MENU automatically. After
               proper implementation of "Rental Assistant",
the program will continue without prompting
by the USER to menu choices. Advancement,
and or choices are frequently created by
USER'S depression of the <ENTER> key; pressing
<ENTER> twice, may induce unwanted results.

The overall limitations of accepting data to

environment in which they are operated. It

its limitations. If inputting DATA, and you
