                         MEAL-MASTER README! FILE

     1. Print or view the MMQUICK.DOC file for instructions on how to
         get started using Meal-Master.

     2. View or print the file HISTORY.DOC for a list of changes made
in the recent releases of Meal-Master.

     3. If you have been using a previous version of Meal-Master (or
Meal-Meister), with a version number less than 5.01, then
your current working disk or hard disk directory will contain
the file MM.COM and possibly the file MM.000. THESE FILES
MUST BE DELETED before the new program, MM.EXE, will run.

     4. You must have the file CONFIG.SYS in the root directory of
your boot disk, and it must contain the statement FILES=xx,
where xx is a number that is at least 11. If this file is
missing, does not contain the FILES= statement, or specifies
a value less than 11, Meal-Master may not perform all
functions. See your DOS manual for more information on the
         CONFIG.SYS file.

     5. The most common problem encountered when installing
Meal-Master is an "Error Code 3" error. This message
indicates that your copy of Meal-Master has been configured
for a machine with directory names that do not exist on the
current machine. Delete the file "PARM.MMF" and restart
Meal-Master to eliminate this error. If you distribute
copies of Meal-Master to others for evaluation, be sure not
to include the PARM.MMF file from your machine.

     6. The distribution disk or archive should contain the following
         files:

         README! This file
         DESCRIPT.641 Description of Meal-Master v6.41
         MM.EXE The Meal-Master Program
         MMQUICK.DOC Overview of Meal-Master commands
HISTORY.DOC List of features added in recent versions
         IMPORTF.DOC Import Format Specifications
PRODIGY.DOC A file describing use of Meal-Master with
                       Prodigy (tm)
CONVERT.EXE Utility to convert CompuChef (tm), Micro
Cookbook (tm), and Micro Kitchen Companion (tm)
                       files for import into Meal-Master
         INDEX.MMF Small Meal-Master Demo Database (file 1 of 3)
         INGRED.MMF Small Meal-Master Demo Database (file 3 of 3)
         DIRECT.MMF Small Meal-Master Demo Database (file 2 of 3)

     7. Please support the Shareware distribution concept! Shareware
allows you to "test drive" software before purchase. It is
not free, and must be registered if you continue to use it
past evaluation. Registration also provides additional
benefits. See the MMQUICK.DOC file for more information.

Note: Many of the new features added in versions 6.20 and 6.21
were the result of suggestions and coordination by Bud
Thurber and Jo Labrecque. Many thanks, Bud and Jo!
