            -----------------------------------

1. Where would I use AlacartE?
===============================
If you use MS-DOS or if at any time you would need to boot in DOS.
AlacartE is fully configurable. Once you have defined your menu
options, you'll invoke any DOS command, including a long command
tail, e.g. "pkzip -rp ALACARTE.ZIP C:\AE\*.*", from any local or
network drive and directory, at a click of the mouse, or through a
few key-strokes.

With AlacartE your menu is always easy to modify so you'll have no
problems "growing on it". AlacartE adapts itself to monochrome
screens, without any special installation requirements. It would
also run on the earliest versions of DOS, if for whatever reason
you are forced to stick with an old version.

  Ideas:

  * Use your PC as a Juke-Box - configure AlacartE to invoke a DOS
CD player, playing your selection of music titles, stored
either on a CD-ROM, or on hard disk.

  * Use your PC to play a multitude of "old DOS" games. Configure
an AlacartE menu to launch them.

2. I am already using a DOS menu, why would I rather use AlacartE?
===================================================================
AlacartE is very easy to install, setup, modify and use and has a
standard intuitive user interface. It might offer other advantages,
compared to your current software. Check the following list!

2.1 AlacartE is NOT memory resident. This is extremely important
especially when you run games, or where memory is critical.

  2.2 AlacartE is safe.
2.2.1 Once configured you could keep the AlaSetup utility
away from the users desktop. This will ensure that the
menu options are not modified without your permission.
2.2.2 The configuration file is encrypted. In a multi-user
system one user is unable to tell what are the options
that are set on others' menus.
2.2.3 Any menu option may be protected with a password.
2.2.4 You could protect "Quit" (exit to DOS) with a password
            or a randomly generated key.
2.2.5 Multiple DOSkey sessions. This is an extremely useful
feature for developers that use a DOS environment, for
various projects. All paths and commands are saved in
files, so they can be recalled even after a machine
reboot, unlike the "per session save" as it is the case
with the original "doskey". AlaDosKey does not require
            any memory space!

2.3 AlacartE is mouse driven. If you have a mouse installed, you
can use it to drive the menu.

2.4 AlacartE is multi-lingual. All titles are fully configurable,
so you can configure the menu in your own language.

2.5 AlacartE is unlimited. You could configure many screens of
menus and link then in a hierarchical tree of menus. Your
hard disk's space is the only factor that could limit the
total number of options configured in AlacartE menus.

2.6 AlacartE screen saver is configurable. If AlacartE operates
in an open plan environment, on a desktop that is visible to
the occasional client, you can for example, configure slides
shows, advertising your company or company's products, to be
invoked as Screen Savers, while the PC is unattended.

3. Why should I register AlacartE?
===================================
3.1 The shareware version demonstrates the capability of the
AlacartE software, but full functionality is enabled only
       upon registration.

3.2 If you require additional customisation or new features, we
will consider your requests or suggestions for future
releases, which will be delivered to you free of charge.
