Company provides increased value and competitive prices with upgraded
configurations on the Power Macintosh 6100 DOS Compatible and Macintosh
PowerBook 520 and 520c; drops prices up to 20% on Macintosh 630 systems

CUPERTINO, California--March 13, 1995--Further demonstrating its commitment
to price/performance excellence across its personal computer lines, Apple
Computer, Inc. today announced new configurations and reduced prices on
some of the company's most popular Macintosh models. Effective
immediately, a double speed internal CD-ROM drive will be a standard
feature on the versatile Power Macintosh 6100 DOS Compatible system at no
additional cost to customers. Apple also improved the value of the
Macintosh PowerBook 520 and 520c notebook computers by increasing hard
drive configurations to 240MB without increasing prices. Additionally,
Apple has recently reduced prices in the U.S.--up to 20 percent--on its
Macintosh Performa 630 and Macintosh Quadra 630 series multimedia
computers.

"Today's announcements reflect Apple's strategy to continue to add features
that increase the value of our systems for our customers, while
maintaining very, very competitive pricing. This--combined with the new
Dataquest report that named Apple the leading worldwide multimedia
personal computer vendor--also cements our price/performance leadership
position in multimedia," said Ian Diery, executive vice president of
Apple's Personal Computing Division.

Apple made the following configuration and pricing changes:

CD-ROM Drive Now Standard on Power Macintosh 6100 DOS Compatible System

With a new, built-in double-speed internal CD-ROM drive, the Power

education, and home customers who work in mixed computing environments,
this product enables users to easily switch between the Mac OS and MS-DOS
and Windows 3.1 computing environments with a simple keyboard command.

The Power Macintosh 6100 DOS Compatible system is powered by both a PowerPC
