Attain Launches IN CONTROL For Workgroups

Powerful Project Planner And Organizer lets Co-Workers Manage Projects,
Tasks And Calendars Over Networks

Somerville, MA. March 10, 1995--Attain Corporation launched IN CONTROL For
Workgroups, the new multi-user version of its award-winning, Macintosh
project planner and organizer. Among the first of a new breed of workgroup
software that is redefining how people work together, IN CONTROL For
Workgroups empowers teams to manage smarter, by helping them plan,
organize, delegate and update data across networks.

Unlike group schedulers that just let people schedule meetings, IN CONTROL
For Workgroups solves the problem of how to get the right information to
the right people at the right time. It achieves this by combining an
integrated project-planning outliner, full-featured calendars and to-do
list manager with the power of the network to enable teams to organize
projects, delegate tasks, coordinate project schedules and track
progress--right from their desktop Mac or PowerBook. What's more, IN
CONTROL For Workgroups can automatically update team members on the status
of entire projects, or just selected parts of them. As a result, team
productivity is increased, by allowing people to be more responsive and
decrease the time they spend in meetings.

IN CONTROL For Workgroups also saves time for business travelers and people
who work from home, because they can take their project files with them
without losing access to shared data. Any file changes made by co-workers
who are both at or away from the office are automatically reconciled when
the files are reconnected, either directly via the network or AppleTalk
Remote Access.

Said Dan Chadwick, Attain's president and co-founder, "IN CONTROL For
Workgroups is significant because it bridges the gap between project
manager software and personal organizer software. While project managers
can convey the big picture, they are too clumsy for most people to use on
a daily basis. And until now, personal organizers could not be used to
manage group projects. IN CONTROL For Workgroups satisfies that need."

IN CONTROL For Workgroups has the added advantage of not requiring a
dedicated server. lt uses the file-sharing capabilities of users' existing
network, such as AppleShare, NetWare or System 7 file sharing, so that
people can use IN CONTROL For Workgroups without investing in additional
equipment or personnel.

IN CONTROL For Workgroups Helps People Manage More Productively

Available this March through all major software resellers and mail order
companies, IN CONTROL For Workgroups helps people work together smarter by
allowing them to:

* Manage projects with their workgroup by giving selected co-workers
automatic access to project information, via the network. IN CONTROL can
automatically update each team member's file when tasks are completed, so
everyone can track and monitor the project, as it progresses.

* Delegate and assign tasks from to-do lists and outlines to designated
individuals, and get immediate notification when tasks are completed.

* Share calendars and schedules with selected co-workers over a network.
While not a "group scheduler," IN CONTROL For Workgroups lets co-workers
track team meetings, company holidays, the conference room schedule and
more. Plus, IN CONTROL can automatically update team members, when changes
are made.

* Reconcile IN CONTROL file changes between a PowerBook and desktop Mac. IN
CONTROL For Workgroups helps people who work from home or on the road
avoid wasteful duplication of effort, by letting them reconcile desktop IN
CONTROL files with changes made to PowerBook files, and vice versa, even
if both files have been revised.

IN CONTROL For Workgroups Features

IN CONTROL For Workgroups builds upon the project- and goal-planning power
of the single-user IN CONTROL 3.0, to enhance team productivity. Like IN
CONTROL 3.0, which remains on the market for single users, IN CONTROL For
Workgroups integrates a powerful project-planning outliner, full-featured
calendars and to-do list manager to help teams coordinate and track their
projects and tasks, rather than just react to them. IN CONTROL For
Workgroups features include:

* Unique, multi-column Action Outliner, familiar to single-user IN CONTROL
customers, now lets teams plan, organize and prioritize both group and
individual projects. Specific items can be kept private or shared with
selected team members.

* Full-featured daily, weekly and monthly calendars now help co-workers
coordinate time-sensitive activities, share project calendars, and track
milestones and key dates, in addition to letting them manage their
personal calendars.

* The Sharing feature allows people to select which items to share, simply
by choosing who to share with from the Sharing pull-down menu.

* Custom Column Sharing lets people control how much others see by
designating which outline columns to share and which to keep private,
giving them the option of keeping both the public and private details of a
project all in one file.

* Task Delegation allows people to automatically assign tasks to selected
co-workers on their network, and get instant updates when to-dos are
completed, or when any other aspect of a task changes.

* The Daily Schedule and Daily To-Do List let people inform co-workers of
one day's appointments and tasks, and get instant updates on daily changes
in co-workers' plans.

* Automatic Lookup allows people to instantly access data from FileMaker
Pro, and instantly share the information with co-workers. Also look up and
share contacts from FastPace Instant Contact, Touchbase Pro, Now Contact
and Dynodex.
