BADGER ANNOUNCES NEW FEATURE SET FOR FIRST FULL-486 OUTDOOR PEN BASED
HANDHELD COMPUTER

First Pen-based Handheld Computer with Embedded Wireless Options

Tampa, Florida -- March 27, 1995 -- Badger Computers announced today a new
feature set for its Badger GT-486P2, the first integrated wireless
pen-based outdoor handheld computer with all the functionality of a
full-sized 486 PC, and ruggedized to withstand any harsh environmental or
industrial field conditions.

The GT-486P2 is the first pen-based handheld computer to feature embedded
wireless options for cellular/CDPD (radio modem), ARDIS and RAM radio
modem, with integral antenna. Other wireless options include GPS receiver
and laser bar code scanner. The unit is the second pen-based product
introduced by Badger Computers.

Upgrades include increased microprocessor speeds up to 50MHz; increased
hard drive capacity of up to 340 megabytes (MB); a solid-state disk up to
80MB; two optional infrared ports with speeds up to 19.2 kilobits (kb)
second; an RS-232 port with speeds up to 115kb; Local Bus compatibility,
full keyboard option; 110/220v AC/DC adapter; two-hour internal AC/DC
battery charger and one-hour charger option; and vehicle docking station
with three interconnect modes.

The Badger product line's ruggedness meets the mobile data collection,
processing, and communication demands of outdoor users in public safety;
law enforcement; field- service; transportation; utility companies;
government and other mobile computing environments.

The Badger GT-486P2 is marketed directly and through value-added resellers
(VARs) specializing in outdoor applications, who bundle the unit with
software designed for particular usage. The unit is available in volume
now at a list price of $4,495.

the Badger's outdoor capabilities in response to market demand,' said

highly-reliable GT-486P2 provides real time wireless communication for
dispatch, database access, and billing, greatly increasing their
productivity, efficiency and mobility.'

Badger Computers serves markets where computer equipment is subject to
severe environmental conditions. The units meet the demanding MIL-STD-810
environmental specifications. The Badger' s durability and high
reliability are due to ruggedized packaging technology developed by Group
Technologies for use in harsh military conditions.

The 10.6-inch by 6.0-inch by 2. l-inch Badger GT-486P2 comes standard with
a 25MHz 3.3-volt Cyrix 80486SLC microprocessor upgradeable to 50MHz; a
40MB hard drive upgradeable to 340MB, and 4MB of RAM upgradeable to 16MB.
Also optional are a numeric co-processor, and solid state disk of 5MB up
to 80MB capacity.

The unit features a 6-inch backlit VGA (640x480) display, two type II or
one type III PCMCIA slots, pen input, and I/O ports for serial, parallel,
external keyboard (82-key Qwerty mini-keyboard or full-size), external
VGA, and Local Bus capability.

The unit weights 3.9 Lbs., including four-hour internal NIMH rechargeable
battery. A two-hour internal AC/DC battery recharger is also included.

An optional docking station for use inside vehicles includes interconnects
for infrared, RS-232 (two) with external keyboard option, and one parallel
port

  It features a PCMCIA card slot and a replaceable keypad that can
  be customized for user applications
* The GT-486P2 is Badger's pen solution, with features provided above
* The GT-486N notebook computer features a 10-inch diagonal screen,
  and comes standard with 40MB hard drive and 4MB of RAM, respectively
  upgradeable to 340MB and 16MB. The GT486N too embeds RF modems to
  increase user flexibility by freeing PCMCIA slots for other uses,
  and can be adapted for vehicular use.
