DIGITAL EXTENDS CELEBRIS DESKTOP LINE WITH 75MHz and 100MHz PENTIUM MODELS

MAYNARD, Mass. -- March 13, 1995 -- Digital Equipment Corporation today
added two Pentium processor models to its popular Celebris desktop line.
The three new 75MHz and 100MHz systems add flexibility to the
high-performance, advanced productivity line, which debuted last fall.

"With these new Celebris models we offer our customers and resellers the
latest in processor and graphics technology," said Howard Elias, vice
president, Desktop Product Line for Digital's Personal Computer Business
Unit. "Giving users a wide range of performance choices allows them to
select the model that best fits their specific needs."

The Celebris line optimizes performance, productivity, and price. The
systems offer high performance on a client desktop through the
implementation of PCI/ISA bus architecture; leading-edge S3 864 64-bit
graphics capabilities; and enhanced IDE for faster disk performance.
Advanced productivity features include Plug and Play capabilities for
automatic configuration of add-in cards; Microsoft Windows '95-ready
system design; and the "Getting Started" menu for easy setup of the system
at power-on. In addition, the Celebris line features easy access
enclosures and state-of-the-art security features.

The Celebris line includes Advanced Power Management features, which help
reduce system power consumption, resulting in lower operating costs across
the enterprise. Several models comply with the U.S. government's Energy
Star power-conservation guidelines.

Quick and easy to upgrade, the Celebris desktop line is tailored for
advanced productivity or scientific users who need a customized and
powerful computing environment. Typical applications include management
reporting, financial analysis, accounting, market analysis and research,
and desktop publishing.

The Celebris 575, housed in a slimline enclosure, is priced at $2,449. The
Celebris 5100 slimline model is priced at $3,399; and the Celebris FP5100
full-profile enclosure model is $3,499. This brings to eight the number of
models in the Celebris line, including systems based on 60MHz and 90MHz
Pentium processors. All the models are available now and come with
