IBM PRODUCTS WIN RECORD NUMBER OF DESIGN AWARDS

ARMONK, NY, March 8, 1995 . . . IBM's focus on customer-driven product
design today resulted in the company winning a record 25 "iF Awards for
Excellent Design" at the 1995 Industrie Forum Design Competition in
Hannover, Germany. The 25 IBM products selected at the international
design competition were the most ever for a single manufacturer in the
Office Products category.

"These awards, from the industry's most prestigious and rigorous
international design competition, are a reflection of the innovation,
ease-of-use and aesthetics customers have come to expect in the design of
IBM products," said corporate Manager of Identity and Design, Lee Green.
"IBM's emphasis on the needs of customers in the design of its products
serves to differentiate IBM in the marketplace."
