NetWorld+Interop '95 Las Vegas is the Site for Industry Collaboration on
World's Largest Exhibition Network

INTEROPNET TO SHOWCASE THOUSANDS OF PIECES OF NETWORKING EQUIPMENT;
CONNECTS 600 EXHIBITORS TO ONE ANOTHER AND THE INTERNET

FOSTER CITY, CA (March 20, 1995) - More than 100 companies are contributing
new hardware, software and engineering talent to NetWorld+Interop's
InteropNet, the world's largest live exhibition network operating 24 hours
a day March 28 - 30, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year, the
InteropNet will integrate more than 7,000 pieces of equipment and more
than 140 miles of cable to demonstrate how heterogeneous products
interoperate. The InteropNet incorporates the latest innovations in such
technologies as Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Integrated Services
Digital Network (ISDN), and the Internet. By March 21, the network will
have been transported to Las Vegas.

"We pioneered the InteropNet in 1988 to demonstrate how multiprotocol,
multi-platform technologies interoperate, and it continues to be the
centerpiece of the worldwide NetWorld+Interop events," said Dan Lynch,
chairman of Interop Company. "The InteropNet has been a proving ground for
hundreds of new and emerging networking technologies, and it remains the
only exhibition network that lets users put technologies to the test in
the rigors of a very large multiprotocol enterprise network."

The InteropNet will be the test bed for four new networking applications at
NetWorld+Interop 95 Las Vegas including:

N+I Online! The First Networking Trade Show on the Internet - An on-line
interactive extension to the physical trade show. Connected to the
InteropNet and the Internet, users will access exhibitor, product and
conference information two weeks before, during, and two weeks after the
event (March 13-April 14, 1995). Attendees can visit N+I Online! at one of
the Network Applications Centers located throughout the Las Vegas
Convention Center and Hilton Hotel.

Multicasting - Live video running over the InteropNet's backbone. Attendees
can view live shots of the show floor, the Network Operations Center
(NOC), and watch tours of the InteropNet

World Wide Web Browsers - Tools for searching and browsing the Internet's
World Wide Web (WWW). Attendees will be able to explore the Web at the
Network Applications Centers with NetManage, Netscape, Spry and Ubique
browsers.

Novell GroupWare Messaging - Novell's GroupWare Division will provide the
largest event-oriented messaging hub to serve more than 60,000 attendees
processing millions of messages during the show. At the Network
Application Centers, through this personal message system, attendees can
send and receive e-mail and access the Internet via a personalized
mailbox.

More than 50 volunteers representing organizations throughout the world
have joined forces to configure this complex, multi-vendor, multiprotocol
network in only 14 days at the InteropNet's Hot Stage facility in
Sunnyvale, Calif. On March 22, the pieces of the network will be
transported to the Las Vegas Convention Center where the volunteers will
begin to install and to deploy the show network throughout the facility
and surrounding hotels in just five days - one of the world's fastest
implementations of an enterprise network of this complexity.

The InteropNet is completely configured, constructed and deployed five
times a year for all NetWorld+Interop events around the globe. All of the
products and talent are donated by leading networking vendors and
organizations in the networking industry.

NetWorld+Interop 95 Las Vegas attendees will gain insight into the
intricate design, implementation, and management of this large-scale
enterprise network through guided tours hosted by the NOC staff. Tours
depart from the InteropNet kiosk near the Grand Concourse at the
Convention Center and include an inside look at the Network Operation
Center as well as a debriefing and question and answer session at the
tour's end. Tours take place hourly during each day NetWorld+Interop.
