Solectek Teams with Kalidor for Wireless Ruggedized Pen-Based PCs

San Diego, CA -- March 6, 1995 -- Solectek Corporation, the innovator of
wireless campus area networking, today announced a strategic partnership
with California-based Kalidor, a manufacturer of rugged, portable pen
computer systems and services. The Solectek AIRLAN wireless adapters will
be installed and sealed in the Kalidor K2000 line of pen-based personal
computers to offer users a wireless, rugged solution for mobile, in-field
applications.

"Partnering with Kalidor will provide users with a winning combination for
mobility," said Bruce Sanguinetti, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
for Solectek. "The applications are endless for a product with the
untethered capabilities of AIRLAN wireless adapters and the rugged
versatility of Kalidor's line of pen-based computers."

"The strategic alliance between Solectek and Kalidor is a natural fit,
since both focus on mobility solutions and sell their products through
quality Systems Integrators and VARs," said Fred Gladney, Kalidor Vice
President of Strategic Operations. "The VARS serving the many vertical
markets that need mobile, rugged units will find this combination very
attractive. "

The two companies have designed a sales program which will help integrators
and VARS successfully offer the Kalidor/AIRLAN product combination. Sales
training, co-operative advertising and co-op seminars targeting end users
are all in progress at this time.

"Our computers are designed to withstand exposure to moisture, including,
salt water and dust," said Gladney. "By sealing Solectek's AIRLAN adapters
inside our Kalidor K2000 series rugged PenBased computers, we are meeting
the needs of our customers who have been seeking a more rugged machine for
use in the field, where devices are typically dropped, exposed to
vibration from travel on rough roadways, and used under extreme
temperature conditions."

Kalidor's rugged pen-based computers include: the 486-based K2100 and the
386-based K2000. Both models are available with rugged hard drives or
solid state IDE flask disks. Kalidor's pen-based computers include 6" X
4.5" VGA pressure sensitive display, local bus video, tetherless pen, up
to 16 MB RAM and use nickel metal hydride battery technology. Retail
prices range from $3145.

Kalidor has received FCC approval to sell the Kalidor line of ruggedized
Pen-Based systems with the AIRLAN/PCMCIA installed. The AIRLAN/PCMCIA
wireless adapter will be installed and sealed by Kalidor to ensure
ruggedness in a real-world environment. The Kalidor/Solectek rugged
wireless computer will be available to both Kalidor and Solectek VARs and
Integrators for pricing which will include the basic price of the selected
computer, the AIRLAN/PCMCIA wireless adapter ($699), plus a Kalidor
installation fee of $150.

Solectek Corporation offers its full suite of wireless AIRLAN CAN (Campus
Area Networking) products throughout the United States, Canada and South
America. Solectek offers AIRLAN/PCMCIA ($699) and AIRLAN/Parallel ($699),
for portable machines, and AIRLAN/Internal ($799) for desktops. In 1994
Solectek began shipping AIRLAN/Access ($2,499) for roaming users, and
AIRLAN/Bridge Plus ($4499), and AIRLAN Antenna options, which enable users
to have wireless networking throughout a campus environment.

Solectek Corporation's AIRLAN product line uses secure and reliable spread
spectrum radio direct-sequence to transmit network data. The technology
used in AIRLAN has been declared the de facto standard by IDC, with 55%
market share, and as a technology partner of AT&T and Digital, is
compatible with the Wavelan wireless products from AT&T and Digital.
AIRLAN CAN products enable PC/laptop users to roam and communicate at full
network speeds -- tested to be as much as 200 times faster than
competitive products -- throughout the entire CAMPUS regardless of size.
