MAGEC 3.0 FEATURES AUTOMATED GUI SUPPORT

Dallas, TX - MAGEC Software has announced the release of MAGEC 3.0 for
cross-platform Rapid Application Development. This new release of the
MAGEC (Mask & Application Generator & Environment Controller) system
includes a number of enhancements to the mainframe versions and to the
optional Graphical User Interface for Windows.

Among the many key features added to GUI MAGEC for Windows is a Developer's
Menu, which replaces the previous Task List. This menu provides a graphic
depiction of the tasks to develop an application, guiding the developer
through the process and automatically updating as tasks are completed.
According to Vic Lee, MAGEC's VP of Sales, "This feature, added to MAGEC's
ability to automatically generate GUI screens without programming, has
redefined GUI development."

Tutorials, previously available only in hardcopy, have now been included in
GUI MAGEC 3.0. These are the same tutorials that have been used to train
new MAGEC users, only now they are offered in graphic mode online. These
can be used to introduce new MAGEC programmers to the functionality of the
MAGEC system. Another new feature available in GUI MAGEC is API support
for communicating with non-MAGEC programs such as spreadsheets and word
processors.

On the mainframe side, many internal enhancements have been made to provide
more functionality and even better performance. One key modification in
MAGEC 3.0 is the ability to support more fields on a single screen,
further reducing the number of screens needed for an application.
Additionally, all updates necessary to support CICS 3.3 have been
incorporated into release 3.0.

"These new features are important to our existing customers and prospects",
said Mr. Lee, "But look for more very exciting news in the near future
regarding enhancements to Client/Server MAGEC, TCP/IP, and LU 6.2
interfaces."

MAGEC supports COBOL, COBOL/2, and COBOL/370 on MVS and VSE operating
systems on IBM and compatible mainframes, Micro Focus COBOL on DOS,
Windows, Windows NT, OS/2, and Unix platforms. Pricing for MAGEC ranges
from $2,000(PC) to $125,000(MVS), with structured pricing for Local Area
Networks based on number of users. Leasing, financing, and month-to-month
rental programs are available.
