SPA Unveils World Wide Web Home Page

New Site to Offer Press Releases, Information, and Links to Industry

March 11, 1995 (Washington, DC) -- The Software Publishers Association
today announced its World Wide Web (WWW) site which is now operational on
the Internet. The WWW is the fastest growing interface for the Internet,
offering a wide range of information to anyone with Internet access and a
modem.

The SPA plans to use its Web site (http://www.spa.org) to educate the
public on issues important to the software industry such as anti-piracy
information, statistics on market growth, as well as provide the SPA
publications. The SPA Web site benefits the SPA membership because it
disseminates information and acts as a conduit to its members'
home-pages.

"One of our main goals is to inform the public about the myriad issues
facing the software industry today. These include facts about piracy,
legal use of software, industry research, government relations, and many
other issues facing our business today," said Ken Wasch, SPA's Executive
Director. "Our SPA Web site makes this information available to more
people than ever before."

"It's the perfect forum for our association," said Jim Hassert, Manager of
Online Services. "Providing this source for information converges
perfectly with our position as the world's leading trade association for
software publishers."

The SPA home page will offer "links" to areas addressing piracy, education,
multimedia, press, research, business, and marketing issues. Press
releases are available at the site. Users can also download the popular
SPA software auditing programs. Additionally, a visitor to the site will
be able to jump to the home pages of SPA member companies that have a
presence on the World Wide Web.

"The Web can be a tough place to find what you need," explains Hassert, "We
anticipate acting as a clearing house for software company information by
offering these links to our member organizations."

To access the SPA home page, the visitor will need a "web browser" software
program and a connection to the Internet. The World Wide Web address for
the SPA site is "www.spa.org".

The Software Publishers Association is the principal trade association of
the PC software industry. Its 1,150 members represent the leading
publishers in the business, consumer, and education markets. The SPA has
offices in Washington, DC, and Paris, France. The SPA press releases are
available on-line through CompuServe (GO:SPAFORUM) and from SPA's faxback
service at 800-637-6823. The SPA World Wide Web site's address is
(http//www.spa.org).
