DataObjects, Inc announces version 1.5 of VB/DLL Library Builder

March 9, 1995 -- Culleoka, TN - DataObjects, Inc. announced today version
1.5 of the VB/DLL Library Builder. VB/DLL is a custom control add on for
Visual Basic that allows a Visual Basic executable to simulate a Windows
DLL while remaining an executable program. With VB/DLL, Visual Basic
functions can be called from any application that's written in a
programming language that can call a Windows DLL. This includes Visual
Basic, C, Pascal, FORTRAN, Access Basic, Word Basic and a large number of
batch and macro languages. Like Windows DLL's, loading and unloading of
the Visual Basic program is transparent. A single 32K control instance can
export as many functions as desired. All the code necessary to implement
functions is automatically generated.

VB/DLL is used as an alternative to DDE or OLE Automation for client/server
or cross-application programming. It can also be used to build reusable
libraries in VB. This allows VB projects with multiple programs to share
code and forms resulting in better software design. The custom control can
be distributed without any fees. The upcoming version of VB/DLL will use
the Winsock API to support function calls across TCP/IP networks. Server
programs written with VB/DLL will then be able to be moved to network
servers without any code modification.

DataObjects, Inc. sells and supports the VB/DLL Library builder.
