Voice Processing on MCA

Natural Microsystems first introduced the VBX product family in 1989. VBX
was the first multi-line, DSP-based voice board family developed for call
processing applications. DSP algorithms provide voice quality with a
choice of five compression rates, high-performance DTMF detection and
advanced call progress analysis.

The VBX 100MC is a one-port voice processing board. It provides an economic
solution for development purposes or for smaller systems. It includes a
local telephone line interface making it ideal for workstation
applications. The VBX 200MC is a two-port voice processing board for
normal telephone loops as well as ground start, DID, and E&M lines. The
board supports 2 to 12 ports and runs all NMS software. It also provides
access to the audio bus that is defined as part of the Micro Channel
architecture.
