America Online Knows Every Second Counts Introducing Dan Hurley, World's
Only 60-Second Novelist

Vienna, VA, October 3, 1995 -- In 60 seconds the average person can dial
the phone, change the radio station, or add cream to coffee! But Dan
Hurley, the world's only 60-second novelist, can craft a person's life
story. America Online, Inc. today announced it will transport the famed
interactive performance writer from the sidewalks of New York to
cyberspace where he'll bring people's stories to life in one minute with
the introduction of The 60-Second Novelist (Keyword: 60 Second Novelist).

The entertaining new forum enables members to interact with Dan Hurley, the
"sidewalk Shakespeare," as well as have their own life stories showcased
for the AOL community. The 60-Second Novelist is a service of The AOL
Greenhouse, a business unit of America Online designed to support
"infopreneurs" in the creation of groundbreaking interactive content
developed exclusively for the online medium.

"The 60-Second Novelist forum is a fun and exciting way for AOL members to
experience a 'cyber-minute' of fame and showcase their own creativity by
writing 60-second masterpieces," said Ted Leonsis, President of America
Online Services Company. "We are pleased to be able to extend Dan's
talents to the biggest sidewalk in America - the AOL community."

"After 17,000 personal novels, I've become an expert on identifying and
translating human emotions into the words that touch people's lives," said
Hurley. "The AOL Greenhouse provides me with an interactive forum and
close-knit community that's critical for the exchange of thoughts, ideas,
problems and solutions."

On October 18, Dan will hold a 24-hour writing extravaganza at @Cafe, a hot
new cyber bar in New York City. From 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 18 to 10
a.m. Thursday, October 19 Dan will write the life stories of live press
and passersby as well as the stories of AOL's online community. This event
is open to the public and is sure to draw a large crowd.

Dan began his career as the 60-Second Novelist on the streets of Chicago in
1983. He set up his 1923 Remington manual typewriter and began writing the
life stories of people passing by for a small donation. His success soon
brought him to the sidewalks of New York City. Now a highly acclaimed
interactive performance writer at colleges, trade shows, department stores
and corporate parties across the U. S., Dan has been featured in People
magazine and USA Today and has appeared on CNN and "The Today Show."
Hurley has crafted novels for famous celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg,
Tom Brokaw and Vanna White.

AOL's Center Stage Auditorium is home to The Dan Live Show twice a week and
AOL members can watch in real time as Dan Hurley writes the stories of
people's lives Mondays at 11 PM and Thursdays at Midnight EDT. Additional
program highlights include:

Writing Contest - Members can partake in the ultimate writing contest and
have millions read their work by posting original creations on message
boards in this area.

Spoof On The News - Dan's daily 60-second novel inspired by current events.
60-Second Library enables members to download transcripts of Dan's online
shows or witness the revolutionary "virtual" publishing of the first
