BERKELEY SYSTEMS' TRIAZZLE LIVING PUZZLES WINS NEWSWEEK EDITORS' CHOICE
AWARD

Game To Be Featured In Newsweek's New CD-ROM Product, Parent's Guide To
Children's Software 96

BERKELEY, CALIF. (SEPTEMBER 21, 1995)-- Berkeley Systems, Inc. is pleased
to announce that its first game title, Triazzle Living Puzzles, has been
awarded the Newsweek Editors' Choice Award. Triazzle was singled out by
Newsweek as one of the 50 best children's software titles, and is featured
on Newsweek's new CD-ROM product, Parent's Guide to Children's Software
96.

"We are thrilled that Newsweek has honored our first game title with such a
distinguished award," said Julie Tarlton, product marketing manager at
Berkeley Systems. "Triazzle is a game the entire family can enjoy,
providing players with hours of non-violent, educational fun."

"Triazzle is one of the outstanding multimedia CD-ROM software products
available for children," said Michael Rogers, contributing editor of
Newsweek and managing editor of Newsweek InterActive. "By singling out
Triazzle and other software products that are entertaining, informative
and educational, we are helping guide parents thought the tangled web of
titles on the market today."

Triazzle Living Puzzles is a brain teaser that comes to life with beautiful
animations from the world's rain forests. The puzzle tests users' visual
acuity for correctly linking triangles made up of the creatures and
insects found in the rain forest, including Poison Arrow frogs, Pond
Slider turtles, Blue Morpho butterflies and dragonflies. With multiple
levels of difficulty and an endless collection of combinations, Triazzle
provides a new challenge every time it's played.

Users can take a break from the game and access facts about the rain
forest, from details about the poisonous arrow frogs found in Central and
South American tropical habitats, to the region's yearly rainfall average,
to a bibliography of resources about the rain forest.

In addition, Berkeley Systems is donating a portion of the proceeds from
the sale of Triazzle Living Puzzles directly to The Rainforest Alliance,
an international, non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of
the world's tropical forests. Available for Windows and Macintosh, on
diskette and CD-ROM, Triazzle has an expected street price of $20.00.

Newsweek's Parent's Guide to Children's Software 96 is an unbiased and
comprehensive guide to children's CD-ROM software that includes the
world's first multimedia product reviews. Available this month wherever
software is sold, the Macintosh and Windows CD-ROM allows parents to see
what's best in children's software before they buy.

In selecting the 50 winners, Newsweek editors reviewed nearly 300 software
titles, culled from the thousands available. Triazzle and the other
winners were picked based on how well they make use of multimedia,
encourage decision-making, provide multiple layers of sophistication,
require interactivity and allow for self pacing and exploration. In
addition, input from a panel of 12 children on qualities such as
ease-of-use, appealing graphics, fun and desire to replay the product were
key factors in the judging.
