BORLAND PREVIEWS 32-BIT VERSIONS OF BORLAND C++ AND DELPHI AT SOFTWARE
DEVELOPMENT EAST

Announces Availability of Borland C++ 4.52, a Free Update for Windows 95
Developers

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- October 2, 1995 -- Borland International Inc. today
announced it will publicly preview the new 32- bit versions of Borland C++
and Delphi at a special event for developers as part of the Software
Development tradeshow this week in Washington, D.C. The event, which will
be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 3 at the Washington Convention
Center, will be the first public preview of Borland C++ 5.0, the next
version of Borland's best-selling C and C++ development system, and the
32-bit version of Delphi, Borland's rapid application development
client/server tool. Both products will be available in the coming months
and will be logo- compliant with Microsoft's Windows 95 operating system.

To help further ease the transition to Windows 95 development, Borland also
announced the availability of Borland C++ 4.52, the latest update to
Borland C++ 4.5. The update includes Windows 95 header files and libraries
and is available now free of charge to all registered Borland C++ 4.5
users.

"Borland is committed to providing software developers a smooth path to
Windows 95 development," said Richard Gorman, Borland's vice president of
products. "With the release of Borland C++ 4.52, developers can easily
write Windows 95 applications and protect their investment in 16-bit
Windows and DOS applications. The 32-bit version of Delphi will provide an
easy migration path from 16- to 32-bit development for the rapidly
expanding base of Delphi developers."

At Software Development, Borland will also have daily drawings for free
copies of the 32-bit beta version of Delphi. At the event Tuesday evening,
Borland will demonstrate the new features of Borland C++ and show how to
easily migrate 16- bit Delphi applications to the new 32-bit Delphi
environment.
