BTG SELECTED TO BUILD ELECTRONIC STORE FOR NIH

NORTHERN VIRGINIA, OCTOBER 5, - BTG, INC. (BTGI-Nasdaq National Market) has
been selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a contractor
for the NIH Electronic Computer Store. BTG's storefront, scheduled to open
for business on October 16 at http://www.btg.com, will feature products
from Netscape Corporation and other vendors, as well as BTG's own brand of
Pentium and Alpha computers and imaging systems.

The online computer store, which will link the home pages of BTG and other
product providers, is being established by NIH. However, managers and
scientists from all agencies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services will be able to shop electronically at the NIH store. The $96.8
million multiple-award contract is indefinite delivery/indefinite
quantity, which means that agencies in Health and Human Services may use
the contract to buy up to the ceiling amount of $96.8 million in
computer-related products.

Tom Nixon, Vice President and General Manager of BTG Technology Systems,
said: "With this electronic store, NIH is taking a giant step forward in
procurement. It will give government agencies the same advantages as the
private sector: rapid access, broad choice of products, low prices, and
secure transactions. BTG is pleased to be awarded this contract because we
are expert in the key areas needed to carry it through successfully:
electronic commerce and value-added reselling."

BTG offers a full range of online services, developed from the company's
experience in helping build the first versions of the Internet. BTG is one
of the largest third-party value-added resellers to the Federal Government
and holds multiple GSA Schedules, with electronic versions of its catalogs
on the Internet.

BTG is experienced both in the operation of computer stores and the
electronic distribution of software licenses. Last year, BTG was awarded
the $195 million Systems Acquisition Support Services contract, through
which the company supplies commercial-off-the-shelf software to the
defense intelligence community. BTG also operates the only computer stores
in the Pentagon and at the Navy Annex, with a customer base of over 30,000
military and civilian employees in the Washington, D.C. area.

BTG, Inc. is an information technology company specializing in systems
engineering and integration, and the value-added reselling of hardware and
software products. Its clients include departments of the U.S. Government,
NATO agencies and countries, state and local governments, and commercial
clients.
