Windows Release 2 provides unprecedented features for a Windows-based CAD
product at this price point. Surface modeling capabilities, an Advanced
Drafting Module, CADKEY LISP for Windows, plus networking installation
enhancements are all part of this latest release. Over 25,000 copies of
CADKEY for Windows have shipped to industrial and educational consumers

NEW FEATURES IN CADKEY 7 FOR WINDOWS RELEASE 2

FastLite, a surfacing module, is now included with CADKEY. It solves
problems that are traditionally difficult to do in wireframe modeling,
such as intersecting two surfaces. Fastlite supports creation and
modification of tabulated cylinders, surfaces of revolution, tangent
fillet surfaces and offset (both constant and tapered) surfaces.

The Advanced Drafting Module adds mechanical detailing features like
dimensioning, tolerancing, balloon notes, surface texture symbols, and
visual symbol libraries for Electrical, Flow Chart, Fluid Power, Piping,
and sheet metal applications. This mechanical detailing capability insures
that designers and detailers are able to communicate important information
downstream to the manufacturing process.

Third party development support is enhanced with CADKEY LISP , which
enables users to write or adopt customized LISP applications into CADKEY.
This new module, coupled with two other design languages built into CADKEY
7 for Windows make it a very flexible system that can be easily modified
to support specific user and industry requirements.

Release 2 includes major performance, functional and networking
enhancements. File loading, redraws, and viewing are up to 4 times faster
than Release 1. Users can assign functions to mouse buttons, and program
accelerator keys to execute any function with a single key stroke. CADKEY
7 for Windows Release 2 will run from a network server or CD-ROM. In
addition the Setup now supports the ability for Cadkey for Windows to be
installed from a network, thus making it easier for system-wide
installation.

CADKEY 7 for Windows also offers complete CADL, DXF, DWG and IGES
bi-directional data translation capabilities. CADKEY DOS version 5, 6 and
7 files are all 100% compatible with Release 2. Using the CADKEY Dynamic
Extensions (CDEs), third-party products integrate seamlessly and use the
same powerful interface as CADKEY for Windows. The CADL programming
language offers users and developers a simple method of building custom
applications without the need to learn a complicated language. CADKEY 7
for Windows will interface with other Windows applications via the
Clipboard or any number of other data exchange standards. The product
supports many Windows general functions, such as TrueType font support,
the ability to overlap viewports, and full network support.

Using the latest Windows tools and techniques enables a single version of
CADKEY to run on any Intel-based PC under Windows. The traditional CADKEY
interface has been redesigned from the ground up, taking advantage of the
best aspects of the Windows environment. In addition, several new
techniques have been developed to maximize user productivity. Minimum
system requirements are 8 MB RAM. 16 MB RAM or more are recommended for
optimal performance.

CADKEY 7 for Windows Release 2 is available for U.S. $795 through
authorized dealers or directly from Cadkey by calling 1-800-394-2231. The
educational price is U.S. $149 per copy. All customers with current
upgrade agreements will receive CADKEY 7 for Windows Release 2 on CD/ROM
at no charge. CADKEY version 7 (DOS or Windows Release 1) customers may
upgrade to Release 2 for $350, which includes any updates to the software
for one year. All CADKEY software comes with a 45 day money-back guarantee
and 30 days free telephone technical support.
