Worldwide Quality Standard Covers Company's "Supply Chain" Process

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass., October 6, 1995 -- Chipcom Corporation (Nasdaq/CHPM)
today announced it has received its ISO 9002 registration from National
Quality Assurance (NQA).

ISO 9002 is part of ISO 9000, a common set of recognized international

practices in manufacturing operations.

Robert Parsons, business development officer of NQA, will formally present
the ISO 9002 certificate to Chipcom executives and employees as part of a

the Massachusetts State Treasurer's office and Marlborough Mayor J.
Michael McGorty.

According to Tony Venturoso, Chipcom's director of corporate quality, "In a
virtual corporation like Chipcom, the supply chain -- which incorporates

delivering total customer satisfaction. Our ISO 9002 registration clearly
demonstrates our continued commitment towards developing world-class
processes."

Tomlin, Inc., a Framingham, Mass.-based consultancy, assisted Chipcom
throughout its ISO 9002 registration process. "The strength of Chipcom's
management team and employees really sets this apart from other ISO 9000
successes, and they should be very proud of this achievement," commented
Graham Hill, president of Tomlin. "We were able to work together in a
highly-focused manner during an exceptionally dynamic period of business
growth in the company's history to bring about this registration."
