COMPUSERVE OFFERS TRAVELERS A BETTER "WAY TO GO"

New online product provides detailed, step-by-step directions to locations
across the United States

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 20, 1995 -- Online travel services are taking a turn
for the better, literally, with CompuServe's debut of a ground- breaking
new service that provides users with door-to-door driving directions
between any two points in a geographic area.

The new service, called "Way To Go CompuServe", provides a complete
directory of addresses and special attractions in a region and generates
turn-by-turn driving instructions between any selected point- of-interest,
business, or specific street address. It is available at no additional
cost to members of the CompuServe Information Service.

A product of SEI Information Technology, Way To Go CompuServe provides
listings of hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, gas stations, tourist
sites, convention centers, automated teller machines and dozens of other
points-of-interest. CompuServe members can electronically tour a selected
area, ask for directions to the nearest type of locations (such as the
closest ATM or nearest hotel) and generate step-by-step directions between
specified points. Way To Go CompuServe provides driving directions in
easy-to-follow text that clearly explains the selected route, details
specific route segments, turn maneuvers, mileage and estimated driving
time.

For CompuServe and its members, Way To Go CompuServe is key to completing
the service provider's broad array of travel offerings. Members can
already make air, hotel, and car rental reservations using CompuServe
without picking up a telephone; with Way To Go, business travelers and
tourists can now confidently navigate unfamiliar territory -- without
picking up a map.

"With Way To Go, you'll never get lost, never have to fold up a map and
never have to stop for directions again. Members will now have access to
the most extensive travel resources in the industry," said Beth Sibbring,
CompuServe's senior marketing manager for aviation, crew and travel
products. "We can not only help you get where you're going, we'll help you
find what you need when you get there."

Representing a first for online services, Way To Go CompuServe was
developed by Information Delivery Services (IDS), a division of SEI
Information Technology, the Chicago-based computer consulting firm that
has pioneered applications in the growing field of Intelligent
Transportation Systems (ITS). The SEI application provides access to the
ITS industry's leading navigable map databases, developed by Navigation
Technologies (NavTech). NavTech databases are widely considered the
industry's most accurate and comprehensive. Because these databases are
continuously updated. they provide information that is far more current
than off-the-shelf mapping software packages. "We took an online,
real-time approach to route guidance because it allows us to deliver the
industry's most accurate, up-to-date navigation information, and it paves
the way for incorporating real-time traffic and weather data," said SEI
President and CEO Fidelis N. Umeh. "Going online in real time also lets us
serve a broad-based market. Anyone who travels needs some route guidance.
In today's market, that's almost everyone."

Way To Go CompuServe offers CompuServe members the advantage of accessing
information across major U.S. cities and regions. Upon its debut, Way To
Go CompuServe will cover the following greater metropolitan areas and
regions: Atlanta, Ga.; Chicago, Ill. and its tri-state region; Detroit,
Mich.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Las Vegas, Nev.; New York City, NY. and its
tri-state region (New York, Connecticut and New Jersey); Seattle, Wash.;
and all of Florida and California.

Way To Go CompuServe provides a number of significant advantages over
conventional mapping packages, including:

* Remote access to the industry's leading digital map database, which
contains the continuously updated geometry of the entire road network,
from interstate highways to residential side streets, and integrates all
the elements needed to provide legal and optimal route guidance;

* Dozens of categories of points-of-interest, including restaurants,
hotels, airports, shopping centers, tourist attractions, gas stations,
automatic teller machines, etc.

* Clear, concise turn-by-turn driving instructions to selected
destinations_whether it's the nearest available ATM, preferred hotel, or a
specific street address.

* Ability to explore types of businesses within a geographic area, such as
a list of all restaurants within a designated three-mile area.

* Lists of points-of-interest that match specific requirements, such as a
complete listing of local fast food restaurants.

communications, and sensing technologies to improve the safety and
efficiency of private, public and commercial transportation.
