COMPUWARE ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE CORONET SYSTEMS

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH., OCTOBER 2, 1995 -- Compuware Corporation
(NASDAQ:CPWR) today announced it has signed an agreement to acquire
CoroNet Systems, a Los Altos, Calif. provider of client/server networked
applications performance management tools.

CoroNet Management System (CMS) provides the link between network and
systems management, enabling network managers to see exactly who is using
the network and what they are using it for. CMS will uniquely extend the
scope of Compuware's EcoTOOLS client/server applications systems
management product line across enterprise networks.

The acquisition is expected to be accounted for by the purchase method of
accounting and is expected to close by October 31, 1995.

Founded in 1973, Compuware develops, markets and supports an integrated set
of systems software products designed to improve the productivity of data
processing professionals in application development, implementation and
maintenance. The Company's products are used by more than 8,800 customers
worldwide. Working across a broad spectrum of technologies, including
mainframe, mid-range and client/server platforms, over 2,400 people in
Compuware's Professional Services Division offer business systems
analysis, design, programming and implementation as well as software
