New Technology Extends Cheyenne's HSM Product Line to the Desktop

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY (SEPTEMBER 28, 1995) -- Cheyenne Software, Inc.
(AMEX:CYE), a world leader in the development of enterprise wide essential
software solutions, today acquired the net assets of Chili Pepper
Software, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia. Chili Pepper Software is the
manufacturer of Infinite Disk Home, Infinite Disk Advanced, and Infinite
Disk Professional, Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) solutions for the
desktop PC. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but are
considered immaterial to Cheyenne for financial reporting purposes.
However, Cheyenne plans to take a one time write- off for financial
reporting purposes net of taxes of less than 3 cents per share in the
quarter ending September 30, 1995 relating to the acquisition of in
process research and development. Cheyenne expects this acquisition will
add to earnings within one year.

"By coupling Chili Pepper's "Infinite Disk" technology with Cheyenne's
server-based HSM offerings, we will be able to extend the scope of the
storage management service to encompass desktops to file servers in the
