DELL ANNOUNCES NETWARE 4.1 SMP PARTNERSHIP WITH NOVELL

ATLANTA, September 26, 1995 -- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL)
today announced a partnership through which Dell will offer Novell's
NetWare 4.1 SMP symmetrical multiprocessing solution in its Dell PowerEdge
multiprocessing servers. The agreement makes Dell, the world's leading
direct marketer of personal computers, one of an exclusive group of PC
manufacturers to offer Novell's highest- performance NetWare operating
system. Dell will offer NetWare 4.1 SMP at no charge beginning in November
on Dell multiprocessing PowerEdge servers running NetWare 4.1.

Novell's NetWare SMP is a set of files or NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs)
that when loaded onto a server running NetWare 4.1 allows the operating
system to detect multiple processors in a single system. This
multiprocessing capability provides increased data throughput and greater
system performance, important considerations for customers running
mission-critical, enterprise-wide database applications. These customers
will now have faster access to more data with the ability to migrate from
a server with one processor to a server with multiple processors as their
needs increase.

"Dell's unique business-to-business model gives customers direct access to
network and server consulting services and custom configuration of every
multiprocessing server," said Eric Harslem, senior vice president, Dell
Product Group. "We have worked closely with Novell to optimize our
PowerEdge dual processor servers for NetWare 4.1 SMP. With today's
announcement Dell will offer tailor-made network server solutions with
Novell's NetWare 4.1 SMP."

"We are delighted that Dell will offer NetWare 4.1 SMP to their PowerEdge
server customers," said Richard King, executive vice president of the
Novell Systems Group. "Dell is an excellent source for customized
multiprocessing server solutions because of its ability to speak directly
to customers to custom configure server solutions. The combination of
NetWare 4.1 SMP and Dell PowerEdge multiprocessing servers delivers high-
performance access to customers using heavy- duty database applications."
A Fortune 500 company, Dell Computer Corporation is the world's leading
direct marketer of personal computers and one of the largest PC
