DELL OFFERS INDUSTRY'S LARGEST EIDE HARD DISK DRIVE

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 26, 1995 -- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL)
today announced that it is offering a 2.1-gigabyte (GB) hard disk drive
for use with its Dell Dimension line of PCs. The new device offers the
largest storage capacity ever available in a single Enhanced IDE (EIDE)
drive, and Dell is the first company to offer this option to customers.

The 2.1GB drive has approximately twice the storage capacity of the largest
EIDE drives that were available a year ago. The drive will be an
attractive option for customers using storage-intensive applications, such
as high-end multimedia packages which allow users to manipulate audio and
video files that often require enormous amounts of hard drive space.

"Windows 95 and the new 32-bit applications that our customers want are
more storage-hungry than ever," said Ben Bentzin, director of marketing.
"This new drive will offer most customers ample storage for the life of
their computer -- and, it represents the single best piece of insurance
users can buy against having to perform storage upgrades in the future."

The 2.1GB drive is available factory-installed on 133MHz Dell Dimension PCs
for $340. The new drive is priced just $120 more than Dell's previous
top-capacity drive, the 1.6GB. Next month, Dell plans to make the 2.1GB
drive available on 100 and 120MHz Dell Dimension systems as well. The new
drive is based on the EIDE specification, which was developed to offer PC
customers more affordable hard drives with improved ease-of-use and higher
storage capacities. It spins at 5400 rpm and supports Mode 4 PIO and DMA
Type 2, which allow for data transfer rates of up to 16.6-megabytes per
second.

A Fortune 500 company, Dell Computer Corporation is the world's leading
direct marketer of personal computers and one of the largest PC
