ELAN COMPUTER GROUP ANNOUNCES THE ELAN TECHNICAL SERVICES PROGRAM

Application developers can now leverage off Elan Computer Group's decade of
experience when planning to implement licensing strategies.

Mountain View, CA (Oct. 18, 1995) -- Elan Computer Group, Inc., the leader
in licensing technology, announced today the availability of the Elan
Technical Services Program (ETSP). The program provides the education,
personal assistance, tools and documentation that enables an application
developer to implement a complete licensing strategy quickly and easily.

"ETSP provides a broad range of services for the growing and increasingly
diverse development community, supplying them with the expertise they need
to arrive at a faster and more profitable implementation of a license
manager," states Hal Carroll, Director of Sales and Marketing at Elan
Computer Group. "We believe the program will provide the skill and
first-hand experience necessary to aid developers in implementing the best
solution today, as well as tomorrow, and have designed Elan Technical
Services to be a link to both current and future Elan strategies."

The program is led by Todd Massey, Director of Technical Services. Massey
has been designing and implementing solutions for protecting proprietary
intellectual property for over ten years. He has extensive experience in
solving complex security issues relating to operating systems, internet
and high-end performance software in mission critical areas. He will
manage Elan's staff of support professionals dedicated to providing
solutions for large development companies such as AT&T, Autodesk, and
Motorola as well as smaller, start-up companies.

"Elan Technical Services -- continuing proof of Elan's commitment to
provide unprecedented customer support -- is a comprehensive program that
will greatly increase productivity by providing the latest tools,
consultation services, training and information a developer needs to
realize maximum revenues from their products." says Massey.

Jeff Elpern, President of Mainsoft Corporation sees the value of this
proactive up front support. He says, "Mainsoft requires a full- featured
and extensible license management solution for our suite of cross-platform
development tools. We looked at a number of license managers that claimed
to be flexible, but found that Elan provided both the product and the
support required to address the unique licensing needs of our MainWin
Studio suite."

"During the engineering evaluation phase of the Elan License Manager,"
Elpern added, "Elan's technical support group was quick to respond to our
implementation issues and concerns. Their timely support, coupled with
their extensible product, provided the perfect solution for our license
management needs."

ETSP provides objective consultations customized to meet the individual
needs of each developer prior to their evaluating any licensing solution.
It includes a variety of technical, business, and marketing support
services such as:

 Custom technical product development
 On-site implementation services
 On-line technical support
 Technical conferences and workshops

Because of the rapid changes in the software industry, Elan also provides
an assortment of customer support packages including an annual
subscription to the latest releases and enhancements to the license
manager. The ongoing support provides the tools and information the
developer needs in order to keep their development efforts on the cutting
edge of emerging technologies.

"Our customer base nearly doubling in size these last 18 months has
convinced us that the Elan License Manager is the next generation in
licensing technology," says Carroll, "In starting ETSP, we'll accelerate
our customers' ability to become more profitable."

The Elan Computer Group is a privately held corporation and the developer
of the Elan License Manager licensing technology. The Elan License Manager
has been adopted by hundreds of software developers and is incorporated
into thousands of products. It is available in both source and binary
forms for 40+ UNIX systems, the NeXT platform, VMS, NetWare, Microsoft
Windows, Microsoft Windows NT and Microsoft Windows 95.
