New Windows Program Gives Projects a Swift Kick in The Strategy

Berkeley, CA, -- On Tuesday, August 29, 1995, Experience In Software, Inc.,
of Berkeley CA, will ship Project KickStart for Windows--a project
organizing software program that boosts productivity by helping users
quickly generate effective strategies, task lists, and resource
assignments for projects.

"Project KickStart is the missing link between a raw project idea and a
feasible plan of action," states Experience In Software president, Roy
Nierenberg."Most projects can be completed in as little as 30 minutes."
Project KickStart not only stimulates project brainstorming, but provides
"built-in" expertise through smart questioning, a context-sensitive
project "Advisor," expandable libraries of project-related knowledge and
sample projects (e.g., Windows 95 deployment and Web site design).

"It's a tool for using the 80/20 principle." says Don Delaney, principal of
Delaney & Co., a Poughkeepsie, NY executive search and outplacement firm.
"I get rid of 80% of the low margin stuff and focus down on the 20%. It's
the ultimate procrastination buster."

Building on the success of its DOS predecessor, Project KickStart for
Windows (introductory SRP $99.95) uses a graphical interface to organize
projects into easily definable phases, tasks, sub-tasks & details.
Although Project KickStart is a stand-alone project organizer, a built-in
icon allows direct linking to Microsoft Project for Windows. Exported data
can also be used in leading project management software products for
Windows and in Microsoft Project for the Macintosh. It is fully compatible
with Windows 95.

Nierenberg (who's previous brainchild, The Idea Generator Plus, launched
the creativity software category), has observed that the re-engineering
movement has propagated a greater demand for "Computer Aided Thinking"
(CAT software) to help increase worker productivity.

"The business environment has changed tremendously over the past few
years," notes Nierenberg. "People are taking on new types of projects and
they don't have the know-how to plan them through." Lisa Loop, executive
director of the Palo Alto Learning Options Center, concurs. "I just can't
start people on Microsoft Project, so I start them on Project KickStart.
The real dedicated planners move onto Microsoft Project. But for most
people Project KickStart is all they need," she says.

One of Project KickStart's most significant features is that it contains
libraries of phases, goals, people and obstacles. The libraries function
as a permanent pool of collective knowledge for future projects. The
libraries not only retain that knowledge, they also speed data entry on
subsequent projects and encourage group participation in planning. Project
KickStart also permits users to draw from similar projects previously
created in Project KickStart for Windows, Project KickStart for DOS,
Microsoft Project, or other project managers.

The program allows users to build up to 1000 tasks and assign up to 100
resources per project. It has a flexible outlining function which allows
project elements to be revised and reorganized quickly. Multi-page notes
-- for issues, reminders and instructions (or for providing official
documentation) -- can be assigned to each task.

Project summaries can be printed in a variety of presentation-ready reports
or transported seamlessly via a "link and launch" command to Microsoft
Project. Data may also be exported via an ASCII text file into Time Line,
On Target, Project Scheduler 6, CA-SuperProject, or SureTrak Project
Scheduler for traditional project scheduling and tracking.

To order Project KickStart please call 800-678-7008 or 510-644-0694.
