Lotus Notes: Newsstand Available on the IBM Global Network and WorldCom

Forty-five Business and Industry Publications New to Service

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 16, 1995 -- Lotus Development Corp. today announced
that Lotus Notes: Newsstand, a service for delivering business and
industry publications to Notes users, is available on the IBM Global
Network and WorldCom expanding the service's availability to over 90
countries. Lotus also announced that 45 additional publications have
signed agreements with the service including publications from APT Data
Group Plc, BRP Publications, the Bureau of National Affairs and Fidelity
Capital.

Lotus Notes:Newsstand users receive their publications via replication
directly into their Notes workspace and can use Notes' unique features to
integrate the information into their work. For example, they can search
for particular keywords using Notes' full-text search capability, sort the
information into various views (by date, by author, by subject), and
easily distribute the information to others in their workgroup via Notes'
replication feature. Lotus Notes:Newsstand has been available on the Lotus
Notes Network since July.

"Our strategy for Newsstand is to give information providers a way to
expand their distribution and to provide Notes users with vital business
information," said Jim Dougherty, director, Advanced Technologies Group at
Lotus. "Today's announcement clearly moves that strategy forward. Now,
Notes users around the world can access over 130 publications from Lotus
Notes:Newsstand while information providers can expand the reach of their
publications to millions of potential users. Our next step will be to
provide expanded opportunities for users and information providers to
leverage the Internet."

Lotus Notes: Newsstand gives information providers a means to quickly and
easily reach a well-defined audience. Using Newsstand's full set of
publishing tools, information providers can format their publications once
and reach Notes users on the Lotus Notes Network, WorldCom and the IBM
Global Network. An information provider can easily convert their Newsstand
content into Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) for publication on the
World Wide Web by using the Lotus InterNotes Web Publisher.

Lotus Notes:Newsstand Now Available in Over 90 Countries

The IBM Global Network service for Lotus Notes is currently being offered
to selected customers who will have access to applications in more than
450 locations in nearly 40 countries by the end of the year. The IBM Notes
service will be made widely available by early 1996.

WorldCom's Lotus Notes communications network is available in 95 countries.
WorldCom is an advanced application hosting environment which allows
companies to share public and corporate information with branch offices,
vendors, clients and business partners across departmental, enterprise,

"Lotus Notes:Newsstand and WorldCom are perfect partners," said Mathew
Wolf, chairman, WorldCom. "With WorldCom's global reach and extensive
customer base, we can deliver Newsstand's impressive list of publications
to Notes desktops around the world, and by making it easier for publishers
to convert and sell their information in Notes format, Newsstand allows us
to meet our clients' increasingly complex and diverse information needs."
