CIRRUS LOGIC AND INTEL PROVIDE MAJOR FUNDING FOR MILLION DOLLAR UPGRADE OF
WALK-THROUGH COMPUTER

World's Largest PC is 50 Times Scale

BOSTON, MA, October 19, 1995 -- It has everything you want in a personal
computer today -- and it's the size of a two-story house. On October 21
The Computer Museum of Boston unveils its new exhibit: the networked,
multimedia upgrade of its giant personal computer, The Walk-Through
Computer(tm) 2000.

The Walk-Through Computer 2000 is The Computer Museum's cornerstone exhibit
-- a working personal computer the size of a two-story house, packed with
the state-of-the-art technology found in today's computers. Visitors who
venture into the 5,000 square foot personal computer access the latest
technology firsthand, enabling them to learn how this new technology works
and the benefits it offers.

The million-dollar upgrade is driven by a high-speed Pentium(R) processor,
surrounded by multimedia boards, connected to a CD-ROM drive, and
networked -- all at 50 times scale. The Intel Pentium processor powering
this exhibit is three times faster than the Intel 486(TM) microprocessor
on which the 1990 exhibit's central processor was based. Cirrus Logic
technology provides the high resolution graphics, cinema-quality video,
and CD- quality audio inside the new Walk-Through Computer. The exhibit
includes more than 30 hands-on experiences which bring all of the
computer's over-sized components to life.

Visitors to the exhibit operate a car-sized mouse to activate the functions
of the huge PC. They enter the computer by climbing over a massive
keyboard or through an "exploded" hole in the chassis. They immediately
find themselves in canyons of printed circuit boards loaded with
suitcase-sized chips that manage the machine's functions, as flashing
lights representing instructions race back and forth through the buslines
on the motherboard at their feet. Visitors can take charge of the whole
computer by controlling the execution of instructions at the
seven-foot-square Pentium processor, setting off a fantastic display of
lights and sounds racing from the microprocessor through the motherboard
to the components. Behind the processor, Cirrus Logic's system controller
and infrared transceiver chips feature special inside views. Visitors can
digitize and manipulate their voices and images and in the process learn
about bit-depth, pixel sizes, and how reds, greens, and blues are mixed to
create a full- color image.

"It's an unforgettable experience to feel like a Lilliputian inside this
Gulliver of a computer," said Dave House, senior vice president of Intel's
Enterprise Server Group and member of the Museum's Board of Trustees. "I
know of no better or more entertaining way for someone to learn about
what's inside these seemingly magical machines -- especially kids who are
so insatiably curious about computers."

Suhas Patil, chairman of the board and executive vice president, Products &
Technology of Cirrus Logic Inc. and member of the Museum's Board of
Overseers, spoke at the gala opening of the new exhibit. "The goal of the
Museum is similar to ours, which is to use technology to make education
entertaining and entertainment educational," Patil noted in his opening
remarks.

Intel and Cirrus Logic are the principal sponsors for The Walk-Through
Computer 2000. Additional funding for the exhibit upgrade was provided by:
