Intergraph Announces Software Enhancements at Fall User's Group Conference

SAN JOSE, CAL., OCT. 23, 1995 -- Intergraph Corporation unveiled major
enhancements to some of its mapping and civil engineering software
products at its annual Fall Graphics Users Group Conference here today.
Driven by customer needs and market demand, Intergraph has added key new
features that will provide more capabilities and functionality without
raising software prices. Additionally, some software products are being
offered free of charge to qualified users.

As a service to existing Modular GIS Environment (MGE) Nucleus customers,
Intergraph is providing MGE ASCII Loader software free via the Intergraph
Bulletin Board Service (IBBS) (MGE Nucleus is the prerequisite). ASCII
Loader is used for loading and unloading ASCII data into MGE project
formats. To obtain the software in the U.S. use (205) 730- 8786 (up to
14.4K) or (205) 730-6504 (up to 2400). For details on how to access the
IBBS outside the U.S. customers should contact their local Intergraph
representative.

Intergraph has also entered into an agreement with MRF Systems, Inc., to
resell its MRF Clean, MRF Clean 3D, MRF Flag Editor, and MRF Overlay
products. Used in GIS applications such as property mapping, resource and
facility management, and data conversion, MRF Clean and MRF Clean 3D are,
respectively, two-and three-dimensional multi-layer, multi- tolerance data
cleaning packages that will enable users to build clean topology files for
spatial analysis. The two packages process point features, linear features
including parametric circular arcs, and polygonal features, allowing users
to set a different tolerance for each input layer. In the cleaning
process, points with larger tolerances will move to points with smaller
tolerances. MRF Overlay is a multi-layer, multi-tolerance spatial analysis
package that automatically removes sub-tolerance polygons (slivers). And,
MRF Flag Editor assists users in editing graphic errors.

Adding line cleaning capabilities not previously available in Intergraph's
products, the MRF products are available on Windows NT, Windows 95, and
CLIX platforms. MRF Clean, MRF Clean 3D, and MRF Flag Editor will be
available at no cost to licensed users of Intergraph's MGE Base Mapper
product.

For civil engineering, Intergraph is showing new versions of its
FieldWorks, InRail, and TrackWorks software packages. FieldWorks provides
surveyors with simple and efficient procedures to integrate electronic
field books (EFBs) into the CAD environment. The new version 2.0 includes
more than 35 major enhancements:

the addition of a text import wizard that allows inclusion of any
ASCII file and import from GPS receivers, and longitude and latitude
conversion to state plane or other local coordinate systems

the capability for users to write their own data collection interfaces
through the text import wizard, or by their own MDL applications
which FieldWorks will recognize an electronic fieldbook to enter
manual data or correct existing observations complete with an
audit trail file that keeps up with edits and changes made to
 the official survey record

search, find, and report capabilities to track attributes such
as trees, buildings, etc. for construction, rehabilitation, and
 environmental projects

InRail is a comprehensive solution for railway design, addressing
preliminary through final design and maintenance requirements including
volumetrics and corridor modeling. TrackWorks is an advanced alignment
design tool offering constraint-driven geometric layout, regression
analysis, and rail fabrication. InRail includes TrackWorks. Enhancements
to the new InRail version 4.0 include:

major annotation enhancements to plan views, profile views, and
 cross sections (InRail only)

new rail elevation schematic plan that provides a clear graphic
depiction of each rail in a group of tracks and accurately indicates
their elevations and labels keypoints, assuring the designer that
 the rails are transitioning smoothly

Both FieldWorks 2.0 and InRail 4.0 are available now on DOS, Windows NT and
Windows 95 platforms. InRail is also available for Intergraph's UNIX
workstations.
