Oracle Relational Database Tools for Windows NT Added to Facilities CAD-2
Contract

HUNTSVILLE, ALA., OCTOBER 9, 1995 -- Intergraph Corporation announced today
that the U.S. Navy, responding to the needs of Federal users, has added
Oracle7 for Microsoft Windows NT to the $422-million Facilities CAD-2
contract. Federal users with workstations and servers running Windows NT
can purchase the Oracle7 relational database, database utilities, and
network and communications tools at very attractive prices. Oracle7 for
Windows NT provides existing and new Facilities CAD-2 customers with
multi-threaded, multi-processing database engine technology that takes
full advantage of the Windows NT operating system and the Pentium-based,
multi-processor servers also available on the contract.

Declared the standard relational database management system (RDBMS) for the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Oracle7 for Windows NT adheres to industry
protocols for data access language, operating systems, user interfaces,
and network communication. Database utilities deliver a full
implementation of structured query language (SQL), as well as powerful SQL
extensions such as report writing, hardcopy output, and data transfer
capabilities. In addition, Oracle7 provides fail- safe security features
to limit and monitor data access to protect against unauthorized use.

Joe Duffy, vice president of DoD Operations for Oracle Government,
commented, "We are pleased to offer Oracle7 for Windows NT on the
Facilities CAD-2 contract, especially since the Windows NT environment
offers additional choices to users who want to integrate technical
applications with personal productivity tools."

FACILITIES CAD-2

Intergraph was selected by the U.S. Navy to provide computer-aided design
and engineering (CAD/CAE) systems for architecture, engineering and
construction (AEC), geographic information systems (GIS), and facilities
management applications. The award is a major component of the Navy's
approximately $1.2 billion CAD-2 program for the acquisition of
computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE) systems
based on commercial off-theshelf technology. The Facilities CAD-2 contract
is the first opportunity for Federal buyers to implement the concept of
The Technical Desktop with Windows NT, integrating technical and business
applications in a single system for maximum productivity and economy. The
first CAD-2 contract, from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), was
awarded to Intergraph in 1991. The most recent CAD-2 contract, from the
Naval Air Systems Command and Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, was
awarded in 1994.

An agreement with the Department of Defense enables all branches of the
U.S. military to buy from Facilities CAD-2. Civilian Federal agencies,
such as the Coast Guard, the Department of Energy, and the Environmental
Protection Agency, also may buy from this contract.
