LOTUS ANNOUNCES INTERNOTES WEB PUBLISHER 2.0 EXTENDS THE REACH OF CORE
BUSINESS PROCESSES TO WORLD WIDE WEB COMMUNITY

ATLANTA, Sept. 26, 1995 -- Lotus Development Corp. today announced
InterNotes Web Publisher Release 2.0, which enables organizations to gain
access to millions of potential customers who browse the Internet.
InterNotes Web Publisher 2.0 publishes Notes documents and forms to the
Web by automatically translating them into HTML. As part of Lotus'
evolving Internet strategy, InterNotes Web Publisher Release 2.0 extends
the value of Lotus Notes by giving businesses a way to market and interact
with their customers over the Internet's World Wide Web.

New to InterNotes Web Publisher Release 2.0 are Web forms, access to Notes'
full-text search engine, and enhanced Web publishing capabilities.
InterNotes Release 2.0 now runs on OS/2 servers in addition to Windows
NT.

InterNotes Web Publisher 2.0 enables Notes users to capture and manage
information submitted by prospects and customers on the Web as part of a
Notes business process application, such as customer service or lead
generation. This builds on the previous release of InterNotes, which used
Notes' collaborative authoring environment to automate the creation and
management of an enterprise Web site.

"InterNotes turns the Web into a true interactive business platform," said
John Landry, Lotus' chief technology officer. "Just as Notes has helped
companies transform internal business practices with tremendous return on
investment, Notes and InterNotes will transform how businesses relate to
customers and prospects. Using Notes and Web technology, companies can
attract new business and better serve existing accounts by interacting
directly with prospects and customers on the Web, bypassing traditional
intermediaries."

FORMS SUPPORT

InterNotes customers can capitalize on the reach of the Internet.
InterNotes Web Publisher allows Web browser users to fill out Notes forms
and submit them directly into a Notes database, an action which in turn
can trigger business process applications such as customer service, lead
generation and tracking, and sales management. For example, a company may
invite browsers to fill out a form requesting more information, to be
added to a mailing list, or to be called by a sales representative. Notes
captures, tracks, and manages this customer interaction. InterNotes Web
Publisher 2.0 transforms a Web site into an interactive environment.

ENHANCED WEB PUBLISHING

InterNotes Web Publisher provides for the automatic conversion of Notes
documents, forms, views and attachments into Hypertext Mark- up Language
(HTML) for publishing on Web sites. By translating Notes documents and
databases into HTML, the format used by standard Web browsers such as NCSA
Mosaic and Netscape, InterNotes Web Publisher provides a single solution
for creating and managing Web sites and integrating Web information into
Notes applications.

New to Release 2.0 are significant publishing enhancements. InterNotes
users now have the flexibility and discretion to publish only selected
views designed for public use. In addition, InterNotes makes it easier for
browsers to navigate large views by separating them into a series of
linked pages.

NOTES FULL-TEXT SEARCH

The search enhancement lets anyone with a standard Web browser easily
search a site managed with Notes and InterNotes Web Publisher 2.0 to find
the information they need. Users enter their search criteria into an HTML
form and submit it. Web Publisher 2.0 executes a search against a Notes
database and returns a list of links to the user. The full range of Notes
search options, including a full-search query language, is available to
Web browsers.

PRICING, AVAILABILITY AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

InterNotes Web Publisher 2.0 will ship within 60 days for an estimated
retail price of $6,589. Release 2.0 supports Windows NT and IBM OS/2
operating systems and requires a Notes server and a standard HTTP server.
Customers are invited to register and download InterNotes Web Publisher
2.0 beta software directly from the InterNotes Development Web site
