LOTUS NOTES: NEWSTAND AVAILABLE ON THE IBM GLOBAL NETWORK AND WORLDCOM

FORTY-FIVE BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY PUBLICATIONS NEW TO SERVICE

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 23, 1995 -- Lotus Development Corp. today announced
that Lotus Notes: Newsstand, a service for delivering business and
industry publications to Notes users, will be offered on the IBM Global
Network service for Lotus Notes and WorldCom and plans to be available
over AT&T Network Notes by the end of the year. Lotus also announced that
45 additional publications have signed agreements with the service
including publications from APT Data Group Plc BRP Publications, the
Bureau of National Affairs and Fidelity Capital.

Lotus Notes: Newsstand distributes business and industry publications
directly into a user's Notes desktop where they can use Notes' unique
features to integrate the information into their work. For example, they
can search through multiple stories or publications for particular
keywords using Notes' full-text search capability, sort the information
into various views (by date, by author, by subject) and easily distribute
the information via replication to others in their workgroup. Lotus Notes:
Newsstand has been available on the Lotus Notes Network since July.

Lotus Notes: Newsstand to their Notes services, these networks are adding
value to their current Notes offerings while offering information
providers a ready-made audience for their publication. We will continue to
take steps to make Lotus a presence in the electronic publishing
marketplace by adding Lotus Notes: Newsstand to other Notes Public
Networks as well as provide expanded opportunities for users and
information providers to leverage the Internet."

Lotus Notes: Newsstand gives information providers a means to quickly and
easily reach a well-defined audience. Using Newsstand's full set of
publishing tools, information providers can format their publications once
and reach Notes users on the Lotus Notes Network, the IBM Global Network
and WorldCom. An information provider can easily convert their Newsstand
content into Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) for publication on the
World Wide Web by using the Lotus InterNotes Web Publisher. Lotus Notes:
Newsstand now available in over 90 countries.

The IBM Global Network service for Lotus Notes is currently being offered
to selected customers and will be made widely available by early 1996. The
IBM Global Network is one of the world's largest providers of integrated
data, voice and video services, with more than 25,000 customers in some
100 countries. Its networking solutions include value-added
telecommunication services, Internet access and navigation services,
subscription access to network-enabled application services, and complete,
end-to-end network outsourcing.

WorldCom's Lotus Notes communications network is available in 95 countries.
Worldcom is an advanced application hosting environment which allows
companies to share public and corporate information with branch offices,
vendors, clients and business partners across departmental, enterprise and
even national boundaries.

NEW PUBLICATIONS ADDED TO LOTUS: NOTES NEWSSTAND

Lotus also announced that 45 new publications have signed onto the service
bringing the total publications available on the service to 135. New
publications available include the Computer Business Review and Multimedia
Futures from APT Data Group Plc; BNA's Banking Report, Daily Tax Report,
and the United States Law Week from the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA);
Telecommunications Week from BRP Publications, Inc.; Patricia Seybold's
Notes on Information Technology from the Patricia Seybold Group; Fidelity
Mutual Information Service and WorldPaper from World Times.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Information providers receive the Lotus Notes: Newsstand tools when they
contract with the service. Lotus Notes: Newsstand information providers
require a Lotus Notes server running Notes 3.1 or higher on OS/2, Windows
or UNIX. Other workstation and servers should also be running Lotus Notes
