NISC will continue Wildlife Review and Fisheries Review

Baltimore -- The essential information in Wildlife Review and Fisheries
Review is without peer, and as the sole CD-ROM distributor, NISC is
committed to these databases. The federal government has announced
possible cessation of support for this valuable work. If Wildlife Review
and Fisheries Revieware discontinued, NISC intends to continue production.
As many of the current staff and procedures would be employed as possible.

NISC will offer the information found in these much-valued publications via
several services:

* Fee-based Internet service-access to the last five years of data, updated
weekly

* Continuation of the CD-ROMs-published quarterly with a modest rate
increase

* Continuation of the print versions-by paid subscription

* Current Awareness E-mail Delivery Service-individual updates on
particular topics

NISC has acquired other databases for the purpose of compiling (indexing
and abstracting) them entirely: the FISHLIT index and the Family Studies
Database, for example. We are committed to providing the same quality and
quantity of indexing and literature coverage that Wildlife Review and
Fisheries Review has now.

About the CD-ROM: The Wildlife Review/Fisheries Review NISC DISC provides
over 360,000 citations on mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish
at an affordable price. Wildlife coverage includes studies of individual
species, habitat types, hunting, economics, wildlife behavior, management
techniques, diseases, parasites, and more. Fish coverage includes culture
and propagation, limnology and oceanography, genetics and behavior,
natural history, parasites, diseases, and general research and management
topics.

Detailed keyword indexing: Extensive keyword indexing permits very flexible
subject searching, and taxonomic and geographic identifiers also are
especially helpful. You can query by species in a province, state, county,
or even a community, park, lake, or stream. The geographic identifiers
include global and broad regional levels as well as specific localities.

Extensive coverage: Thousands of journal articles, monographs, conference
proceedings, symposia, government reports, theses, dissertations, and
scientific periodicals are indexed each year. Many of the sources are
unpublished or rarely cited in other commercial databases.
