Novell Joins Leading Computer and Telcom Partners to Sponsor Conference on
Network Telephony Integration

OEMs, Developers, Resellers, Systems Integrators Standardizing on Novell
Telephony Services API

Orem, UT -- October 9, 1995 -- Novell announced today that it will join its
telephony partners -- AT&T, Nortel, Siemens ROLM Communications and Versit
-- in sponsoring the second annual conference on the development and
marketing of integrated network telephony solutions based on Novell's
Telephony Services API (TSAPI). The TSAPI Conference, scheduled for
October 24 and 25 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Francisco, California,
will bring together major telecom and systems OEMs with developers,
resellers, systems integrators, and end users to accelerate market growth
in network telephony solutions.

This year's conference will focus on helping attendees work in partnership
to plan and execute on the new business opportunities presented by network
telephony solutions. TSAPI continues to standardize and drive the market
for these solutions, which integrate telephone voice and computer data on
networks to help customers communicate, collaborate, and conduct
electronic commerce in valuable new ways. Developers, resellers, and end
users will gain valuable information on standards, technologies, and
products that will directly impact their near-term planning.

"The theme of this year's conference is Partners Enabling the Vision, which
reflects the fact that network integration is a recognized requirement for
telephony and that it takes more than an API to deliver the complete
solutions that customers need," said Paul Armstrong, director of marketing
for Novell telephony products. "The products and technologies to deploy
network telephony are all available in the marketplace. Customers need the
vendor community, resellers, and systems integrators to come together to
deliver complete solutions. That's what this conference is all about."

"Telephony Services API is an important component for interoperable
multivendor solutions," said Gary Andresen, Senior Analyst, Dataquest.
"Delivering switch-connected services defined by ECMA's CSTA standard
along with network integration, TSAPI is one of the keystones for an
industry and market that is about to explode. This conference will help
the telephony community better understand how to get solutions into
customers hands with the support they need."

At this year's conference, over 12 companies will deliver tutorials
offering insight into current and future network telephony directions.
Development and marketing tracks will cover such topics as the future of
telephone switching solutions, strategic directions for software and
hardware development, channel opportunities for today's telephony
solutions, emerging telephony-integrated voice platform developments,
updates on standards activities, and more. Keynote speakers include
Andresen and Novell chief scientist Drew Major.

NetWare Telephony Services integrates telephone networks and data networks
using the CSTA standard for switch connected CTI. Through TSAPI, over 100
software developers and over 26 telephone switch manufacturers have
committed to delivering solutions for NetWare Telephony Services. Today,
there are more than 15 drivers available for leading PBXs and key systems
and more than 43 commercial applications that use TSAPI to integrate with
NetWare Telephony Services. Hundreds of other applications can utilize
NetWare Telephony Services through available TSAPI middleware solutions.
