PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGY'S INSTANT INTERNET SELECTED BY YOUNG & RUBICAM AS A
STANDARD FOR INTERNET ACCESS

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, October 23, 1995--Performance Technology (PT) today
announced that Young & Rubicam has chosen PT's Instant Internet product as
the firm's standard solution for local office Internet access
company-wide. The selection was announced by Vincent Fusco, Director of
Network Services, at a Young & Rubicam technology executive committee
meeting held in late August. The decision had been reached after testing
Instant Internet for a period of approximately six weeks. Instant Internet
is a plug-and-play solution designed specifically to connect entire local
area networks (LANs) to the Internet, while requiring no load on any LAN
server. Instant Internet offers access for up to 50 concurrent users per
unit, provides hardware firewall security, and requires no IP installation
on any network client or server.

Young & Rubicam, with headquarters in New York City, is a world leader in
commercial communicationsa partnership of preeminent companies in
advertising (consumer and specialized), public relations, design and
identity, sales promotion, direct marketing, and healthcare
communications. Renown for compelling creative content in all media, Young
& Rubicam considers the Internet a significant vehicle for commercial
communications, and is well positioned to provide opportunities to its
clients in this new and rapidly growing media.

To access the Internet for familiarization, research, electronic mail and
file exchange purposes, Young & Rubicam has established a New York-based
Internet access point to its global wide area network using a "firewall"
protected IP-based solution, which the company will continue to support
and expand. Due to Instant Internet's simple installation and hardware
firewall design, the PT product offers significant benefits as an adjunct
to the traditional IP solution in important areas. Mr. Fusco explained
that Instant Internet's advantages to Y & R are basically twofold:

** Y&R can now provide a safe and secure method for any local office to
connect its LAN to the Internet, to satisfy local needs.

** Y&R can now provide the ability for any office to get on the Internet
very quickly, due to Instant Internet's support for NetWare IPX, the
established networking protocol at Y & R.

"With Instant Internet, we can put a program in place on the network and
literally put hundreds of people on-line overnight," said Mr. Fusco.

Jim Scielzo, Chief Technology Officer for Y & R, sees the benefits of
Instant Internet as "a particularly cost-effective method to provide
access to the Internet from any office's LAN, while maintaining the
security of our internal networks and limiting unpredictable volumes of
Internet-associated traffic from burdening the wide area network."

Young & Rubicam is a globally networked organization with over 200
Novell-based LAN installations joined into a global wide area network. The
NY headquarters office has approximately 1200 users, of which some 400
NetWare users have already been provided Instant Internet access, using
the dual-Ethernet version of the unit and connecting through the New
York-based wide area network Internet access point.

THE INSTANT INTERNET ENVIRONMENT

Instant Internet, designed specifically for NetWare or POWERLan networks,
is the first all-in-one-box, LAN-based Internet access solution that does
not touch any LAN server. Client installation is minimal and can be
performed in minutes without leaving Windows. Instant Internet supports
any WINSOCK-compliant application, and bundles a suite that includes
browser, e-mail, FTP, and newsreader capabilities. Instant Internet
handles the entire Internet connection from dial-up PPP and SLIP through
IP Ethernet connections to routers automatically. Support for over 100
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) is built-in; all that is needed is an
account with a local provider. The product supports Ethernet, ARCNET, or
Token Ring networks, and comes in a dual-card version as well. Launched in
April '95, Instant Internet has garnered Computer Reseller News Testing
Center's 'Recommended' award, and Honorable Mention by PC Magazine.
