IDG Communications Norway licenses Quarterdeck's InternetSuite

MARINA DEL REY, CALIF., OCTOBER 24,1995 --- Quarterdeck Corp . (NASDAQ:
QDEK) today announced an agreement with IDG Communications Norway where
IDG would license Quarterdeck's InternetSuite as the Internet access
software solution for customers of its new dial-up service, IDG New Media.
IDG New Media will offer InternetSuite at a specially reduced price to new
subscribers and also as part of a complete Internet access package which
will include a high-speed v.34bis modem. InternetSuite is also available
immediately through normal retail channels in Norway at a suggested retail
price of Nkr 599.

assist us in developing our customer base in Norway," said Emerick Woods,
vice president and general manager of the Internet Business Group at
Quarterdeck. "There is tremendous potential for dial-up access across
Europe and IDG are in an ideal position to become one of the major

Quarterdeck product to an ever-growing number of users."

Quarterdeck's InternetSuite is a collection of five tools that includes
Quarterdeck Mosaic, Quarterdeck Message Center for Usenet news and
Internet mail, QTERM for remote access, QFTP for file transfers, and the
Location Manager. InternetSuite also comes with an integrated Windows 3.1
SLIP/PPP dialer to access the Internet, and with Quarterdeck's Connect and
Play, users can establish an account electronically in minutes with IDG
New Media. With Quarterdeck's Location Manager, users can look up a
connection to IDG's services from anywhere in Norway, whether at work, at
home, or on the road.

in addition to assisting users in the exploring and obtaining of
information from the Internet's World-Wide Web, allows the user to filter
the information found and organize it into customized folders with a
simple drag-and-drop interface. The product also includes a directory of
pre-installed Web addresses organized by topic.
