QUALCOMM ships Eudora Pro 2.1.2 for Windows

COMPANY ALSO PREVIEWS NATIVE 32-BIT EUDORA PRO VERSION FOR WINDOWS `95 TO
BE INTRODUCED THIS NOVEMBER, AND MAPI SUPPORT BEFORE THE NEW YEAR

SAN DIEGO, CA - (September 25, 1995) - QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM),
a leading developer of advanced electronic messaging solutions for the
Internet, announced today that it has begun shipment of its Eudora Pro
electronic mail software for the Windows platform. This announcement comes
soon after shipment of Eudora Pro for the Macintosh platform, announced in
mid-July, and signals to the consumer market that Eudora Pro software will
now be widely available to users of both platforms well in advance of the
holiday buying season.

Eudora Pro 2.1.2 is an Internet based electronic mail application that
provides feature-rich, enterprise- and Internet-wide messaging and
information productivity services. Based on the award-winning Eudora
software originally introduced in 1988, Eudora Pro delivers the ease of

millions of Internet enthusiasts alike. The new functions of Eudora Pro
for Windows include:

QUALCOMM to Introduce Industry's First 32-Bit E-Mail Application

Previewing the company's future direction, Craig Brenner, worldwide
marketing manager for QUALCOMM's Enterprise Software Technologies (QUEST)
group, said "We are committed to engineering a 32-bit native Eudora Pro
program for Windows `95 scheduled for release in November, making us one
of the first -- if not the first -- e-mail software provider to bring such
an e-mail application to market."

Brenner said that Eudora Pro is already compatible with Windows `95, and
the company intends to maintain its leadership in the e-mail category by
being first-to-market with an industry-standard 32-bit solution in
anticipation of tomorrow's user needs.

QUALCOMM to Integrate MAPI into Eudora by End of Year

According to Brenner, QUALCOMM also plans to integrate Microsoft's Windows
Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) -- now shipping with
Windows `95 -- into the Eudora product line before the end of the year,
along with native Windows '95 support. This adds an enhanced level of
interoperability to the product family.

MAPI, which is part of the Windows Open System Architecture (WOSA), will
enable users of Eudora Pro to send and receive messages to and from
Microsoft At Work-based devices. Microsoft At Work is an office
architecture that enables PCs, handheld systems, digital
copier/duplicators, printers, fax machines and telephones to communicate
over local-area, wide area or wireless networks using services such as
E-mail and voice mail.

This integration will enable users to send messages to both e-mail and
Microsoft At Work-based recipients while also allowing them to make use of
the Microsoft At Work message protocol with no modifications. Vendors such
as Oracle Corp., Lotus Development Corp. and Novell Inc. are currently
using MAPI.

QUALCOMM distributes its Eudora family of products through Ingram Micro,
the world's largest wholesale distributor of microcomputer products, and
also through Kuni Research International, which has an exclusive agreement
to localize and distribute a Japanese version of Eudora Pro in Japan.

The Ingram Micro distribution agreement enables QUALCOMM to market Eudora
through major US retail chains, including Egghead Software, Comp USA, Best
Buys, MicroCenter and Fry's. Ingram Micro distributes through 70,000
reseller customers in 120 countries, including Stream International,
Software Spectrum and Softmart.

At the same time, QUALCOMM will continue to promote Eudora Pro in
distribution channels to corporate resellers, value-added resellers
(VARs), systems integrators and Internet service providers. In addition,
Eudora Pro is available through mail order catalogs, such as Multiple
Zones International (MAC Zone and PC Zone) and PC Connection, Inc. (MAC
Connection and PC Connection).
