QUALCOMM Forms New Division to Spearhead Technology Transfer and Strategic
Alliances

SAN DIEGO - Oct. 24, 1995 - QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today
announced the formation of its Technology Transfer and Strategic Alliance
Division. This new division will be responsible for marketing and
licensing all of QUALCOMM's intellectual property to strategic partners
throughout the world, as well as entering into new business alliances to
expand the reach of QUALCOMM's technology and products. Steve Altman, in
addition to remaining the Company's vice president and general counsel,
has been promoted to general manager of the new division.

QUALCOMM has established alliances or licenses with many of the largest
telecommunications manufacturers in the world, including Alcatel, AT&T,
Northern Telecom, Motorola, SONY Electronics, Mitsubishi, Matsushita, NEC
Corporation, Samsung, Goldstar, Hyundai, Fujitsu and others. Through the
formation of these strategic alliances and licenses, QUALCOMM has expanded
the market for QUALCOMM-manufactured products and has accelerated the
adoption and deployment of its technology throughout the world.

"To fully exploit the tremendous opportunities for utilization of
QUALCOMM's technologies around the world, it is important for us to
continue to license our technology to selected partners that have
resources and skills that complement our own," said Steve Altman, vice
president and general manager, Technology Transfer and Strategic
Alliances, for QUALCOMM Incorporated. "This new division will focus on
marketing and licensing our technology and supporting these partners."

"One of QUALCOMM's primary objectives is to ensure that our technology is
widely adopted as the technology of choice around the world," said Dr.
Irwin M. Jacobs, chairman and CEO of QUALCOMM. "Licensing our technology
to selected companies has not only had the affect of expanding the market
in which we can sell our own products, but has also allowed us to support
companies in many countries to more rapidly bring the technology to market
with lower cost and greater features."

Headquartered in San Diego, QUALCOMM develops, manufactures, markets,
licenses and operates advanced communications systems and products based
on its proprietary digital wireless technologies. The Company's primary
product areas are the OmniTRACS system (a geostationary satellite-based,
mobile communications system providing two-way data and position reporting
services), CDMA wireless communications systems and products and, in
conjunction with others, the development of the Globalstar low-earth-orbit
(LEO) satellite communications system. Other company products include the
Eudora Pro electronic mail software, VLSI components, and communications
equipment and systems for government and commercial customers worldwide.
