Raosoft, Inc. releases Raosoft SURVEYWin Version 3.0 for Windows, Win95,
OS/2, and NT for power data collection and statistical analysis using its
new graphical interface. This graphical version of the Raosoft SURVEY
information system lets beginners as well as experts build advanced
applications in collection design and data evaluation.

SURVEYWin will be shown in Booth S-1644, COMDEX/Fall 1995

Seattle, October 23, 1995 -- Raosoft SURVEYWin, Version 3.0 gives new
graphical ease to the already friendly Raosoft SURVEY database information
system. SURVEYWin provides extreme flexibility for designing data
collection instruments, with no database code needed for form creation. An
object-oriented form design makes the development process simple with
point-and-click selection. Using the drag-and-drop option features, even
the novice can design customized electronic data entry screens. The
database is automatically created. Paper and scannable form creation are
straightforward. Statistical analysis with Raosoft, Inc.'s FastStats
point-and-click interface is easy for beginners while providing power
options for professionals.

Unique on-line and network broadcast features include detailed
confidentiality options. Previous data collection projects for the
DOS-based version have ranged in size from 500,000 electronic participant
reviews to simple 50 record database projects. SURVEYWin maintains and
extends this versatility and power.

Shipping begins November 16, 1995. The price is $495 for Raosoft SURVEYWin
(the same price as DOS-based Raosoft SURVEY Ver. 2.7). It requires under
10MB disk space and under 4MB memory in Windows, with other memory
requirements dependent on the platform. SURVEYWin is fully networkable and
will run on Windows, Win95, OS/2 and NT operating systems. SURVEYWin has
no limit to the database size that it can work with except system
capacity. It supports unlimited fieldnames and unlimited field sizes and
text entry. SURVEYWin is written in C++, Assembly and Pascal. It is
compatible with standard databases and word-processing. Both Windows and
DOS versions are fully networkable.

Unlike most current collection software. SURVEYWin collects data that can
be fully analyzed as data, not text alone. The data may be exported to
other programs as well. Under SURVEYWin the user can create electronic
IntelligentShell forms whose graphical format supports precision entry
guidance such as logic checks, error check options, and unlimited
branching. On-line data collection supports options to permit more
accurate information gathering than paper.

Robust on-line data collection includes launching SURVEYWin forms from
e-mail programs or as disk send-outs as an executable program. The module
USurvey allows you to make forms into executable programs ($395 for
Unlimited Send-out license). SURVEYWin also allows users to print out
publishable quality paper and scannable forms.

SURVEYWin is an integrated statistical database that provides form design,
data entry/import, analysis and reports for complete solutions to daily
business processes. Non-experts can readily build custom applications for
work in areas such as training, customer satisfaction (TQM), marketing,
assessment and evaluation, statistical analysis, Help Desks and testing.

You may custom design all elements of your screen using the Raosoft Total
Graphical Interface (TGI) developed by Raosoft, Inc. for SURVEYWin. All
options are triggered by point-and-click menu selections. Major features
that this interface supports are:

* Question attributes can be selected from floating palette menus and
toolbars, such as type of questions or layout styles.

* Total flexibility exists for questions and responses layout, e.g. the
possible responses can be diagonal, horizontal, vertical, or anywhere on
the screen or page.

* Bitmap support provides for pictures anywhere in the form, including
pictures as possible response choices.

* The WYSIWYG form design has page preview

* Auto alignment to a grid provides easier form design

* You may embed the forms in other programs, such as Lotus Notes, or launch
from within E-Mail programs. The form may be used as an OLE 2.0 document,
for portability to spreadsheets for form distribution.

* Question libraries use drag-and-drop for the questions selected. You may
set up an Item Bank of approved questions.

* You may borrow questions from other forms.

* Branching and skipping are easy

* Custom design electronic entry screens with ToolFrame drag-and-drop.
Place common commands such as Save, Cancel, or Next on the screen.

* Forms now have full font support and color

* Help text is assignable to questions and/or responses and will appear on
request in a pop-up dialog box.

* Relational forms can be kept, e.g. separate forms for each family member
are possible.

* Advanced options for IF statements, calculated variables, and embedded
scripts are available.

* Electronic forms will scale to an appropriate screen size, so forms
running on a notebook will be fully visible.

* Construction of paper scannable forms

* Sample templates are included for various applications, including
customer satisfaction questionnaires, Help Desks, travel request forms,
etc.

Networking features offer comprehensive support for use on Novell, Banyan,
LanManager and NetBIOS. Some of the major features include:

* The unique WorkSave feature that saves your work if the network crashes,
even if your entry is only partial, and lets you continue working until
the network returns (when WorkSave then submits the data).

* Extensive password options and access restrictions.

* The E-Mail autoresponse uses CMC (common mail calls), VIM, or MAPI, and
responses to forms can be sent through E-Mail systems.

* Secure Transaction submission during transmittal from one location to
another. Relational transactions are concatenated before sending.

SURVEYWin maintains ease of use in Analysis plus extends power with its
database support:

* Analysis results may be pasted into other documents via OLE 2.

* Point-and-click analysis for statistics. The graphs are automatic, with
no need for dialog box fill-ins. SURVEYWin is preconfigured to provide the
right analysis.

* The automated Sample Size Determination provides multiple scenarios for
viewing at one time.

* Scoring and Testing options are improved, including the ability to score
text write-in answers.

* A transaction database allows you to add or remove fields at any time. A
new database will be created with the new fields.

* Data files from earlier DOS versions are compatible with SURVEYWin.

* Native support is provided for dBASE, Paradox, Text, Oracle, Sybase,
InterBase, Informix as well as ODBC data sources.

* The file format of dBASE III is extended to unlimited fieldnames and
unlimited field sizes. No longer is the user limited to 240 characters per
field. (This supports work functions in interviewing, instruction,
testing, and auditing.)
