Seybold San Francisco Focuses on New Printing and Publishing Products and
Technologies

FOSTER CITY, CA (OCTOBER 9, 1995) - Celebrating its 10th Anniversary,
Seybold San Francisco, the source for 21st century publishing, was host to
more than 40,500 attendees at its Conference and Exposition held September
26-29. Printing, publishing and graphics professionals visited
presentations by over 350 exhibitors and experienced a variety of
interactive and educational events.

The Exposition floor featured three days of interactive product and
technology demonstrations including Apple's Masters of Media Showcase, New
Tech Labs and Komori's PrintShop 2000. In addition, an eclectic collection
of digital art and graphic designs were showcased in the Computer Artist
Gallery, Strata Digital Art Gallery, Real World Imaging Gallery and the
WhaleSong Gallery. The show floor offered attendees an opportunity to
learn, touch and test the latest developments in printing and publishing
to meet their current needs or to explore a new technology or product for
future plans.

Exposition Features New Products and Technologies

Exhibitors showcased new products and technologies including the latest in
dry film image setters, digital cameras, HiFi color applications, large
format systems, Web and online products and more. Overall, there were 35
exhibitor press conferences held at Moscone Convention Center and over 200
new product and technology announcements. Among the hundreds of

Conference Features Technology Education

As a gathering place for printing and publishing professionals who come
together to work out the issues that will carry the industry forward, key
publishing issues were discussed throughout the Conference. For ex ample,
in the Publishing Online: Commercial vs. Web session, executives from
Microsoft and NetScape had a heated debate over the future of Microsoft
Network vs. NetScape.

Moderated by Jonathan Seybold, Founder, Seybold Seminars, keynotes were
presented by chief executives of Apple, Novell and SoftQuad who discussed
parallel visions of how networking and Internet publishing will be a
larger focal point now that the World-Wide Web has emerged as a new medium
for publishers.

In addition, "The Future of Print" keynote session featured chief
executives from RR Donnelley & Sons Company, New Century Network, J.
Walter Thompson, Scitex America and The Institute for the Future who
addressed two main questions: "What is the Future of Print?" and "If it is
not wiped out, in what form will it survive?" They all agreed that print
will continue to grow because of its accessibility, affordability and
capability of random access, sorting and other uses.

Seybold Seminars is the world's largest and most comprehensive event for
publishing, printing and graphics professionals. Now in its 15th year,
Seybold's visionary leadership and authoritative education has earned its
