PERFORMANCE AND PRODUCTIVITY FEATURES

PENTIUM POWER:

The Tecra 700 Series incorporates Intel Corporations new 120-MHz Pentium
(2.9v) processor to handle the most advanced applications. Based on Intels
iComp rating, the 120-MHz Pentium processor is up to 36 percent faster
than the 90-MHz Pentium processor, making it ideal for multimedia
applications, hardware and software development and advanced
applications.

We are pleased to be working with a leader in portable computing. Intel has
enjoyed a long strategic relationship with Toshiba and shares their
commitment to provide the most advanced technology for the portable
computer market, said Steve Nachtsheim, vice president of Intels mobile
and handheld products group. The powerful Intel 120-MHz Pentium processor
is the fastest available for mobile computers, and the Tecra 700 Series
superior engineering takes full advantage of the processors performance
capabilities while providing unprecedented battery life.

MEMORY CONFIGURATION:

To maximize the Pentium processors performance, Toshiba incorporates
high-speed synchronous DRAM memory into the Tecra 700 Series. Unique to
the Tecra 700 Series, this advanced memory is faster than standard and EDO
(extended data output) DRAM, eliminating the need for costly and power
hungry Level 2 caches. Beneficial to notebooks, synchronous DRAM memory
uses less power for longer battery life and generates less heat. Also,
less circuit board space is needed, providing room for more features
including superior structural support for duralbility. An internal PCI
system bus and external PCI expansion bus architecture provides high-speed
32-bit connections between the internal devices and the Desk Station V.

SUPERIOR DISPLAY AND VIDEO:

Large 11.3-inch screens create a new standard for high-end applications,
including multimedia and graphics rich presentations. The Tecra 700CT
features an 11.3-inch color TFT-LCD active matrix display with 64K
simultaneous colors and the Tecra 700CS has a striking dual-scan STN-LCD
display with 256 simultaneous colors. Both LCDs have 800 x 600 resolution
and are driven by the Chips &amp Technologys 65548 PCI-based graphics
controller.

STORAGE, BATTERY LIFE, EXPANSION AND CONNECTIVITY:

The enduser removable hard disk drive is a large 1.2 billion bytes
(=1.13GB), supporting multiple applications and the storage demands of
advanced multimedia files. Because it is removable, the hard disk drive
with password security is ideal for data security, the sharing of one
system between multiple users and easy upgrades. For those on the go, the
Tecra 700 Series Lithium-Ion battery provides extended battery life for up
to five hours. For expansion and connectivity within the notebook, the
Tecra 700 Series features two stacked 16- bit PC Card slots that accept
two Type II or one Type III cards. Toshiba has also implemented an
infrared port for wireless connectivity between the notebook and other
infrared compatible devices, such as printers and computers.

MULTIMEDIA AND FLEXIBILITY FEATURES

The Tecra 700 Series is a total portable multimedia package that is
configurable to meet a variety of customers multimedia applications.
Toshibas SelectBay slot allows the interchanging of the modular 3.5- inch
floppy disk drive with an optional Quad-Speed CD-ROM, allowing users to
customize their portable environment. For convenience and productivity,
the floppy disk drive fits into a case that can be hot connected
externally while the CD-ROM is being used in the SelectBay slot.

For the ultimate in motion video, the Tecra 700 Series advanced video
controller supports PCI burst mode, providing up to 30 percent faster
video performance than a comparable VL-based video system and non- burst
mode PCI video controllers. The Tecra 700 Series also comes equipped with
integrated 16-bit sound with MIDI, .WAV and Sound Blaster Pro compatible
audio that may be heard through the two built-in high fidelity stereo
speakers, perfect for presenting to small and medium- sized audiences. The
Tecra 700 Series is an essential tool for giving breakthrough multimedia
presentations that are graphics intense and require the best in sound,
color and performance, commented Scott.

NEW DESK STATION V WITH PCI EXPANSION

Desktop functionality is accomplished with Toshibas optional Desk Station
V, extending the PCI bus beyond the notebook. The external PCI expansion
bus architecture in the new Desk Station V supports 32-bit PCI and 16-bit
ISA, as well as Plug and Play, true Hot Docking and simplified card
configuration. A built-in SCSI-2 port, a 5.25- inch half-height drive bay
and two Type III PC Card slots allow for the installation of peripherals
for even further customization in the office.

The SelectBay is also included on Desk Station V for easy interchangability
of the floppy disk drive and optional Quad-Speed CD-ROM, providing another
method of simultaneous connection. Perpetuating the Tecra 700 Series
multimedia capabilities, Desk Station V has a full array of multimedia
ports and provides instant pass through of audio through two built-in
