                           On Top Of The World

          The Geography Program That Puts You In The Pilot's Seat

        On Top Of The World is now ready for sale. We invite you and
        your children to explore our Earth on your personal computer.
        On Top Of The World is not an atlas, and has no maps. Instead,
        it lets you fly around a three dimensional model of the Earth,
        whose position and sunlit side is correctly depicted for the
        time and date. You can move and look in any direction, and go
        to almost any altitude. On Top Of The World combines the fun of
        a flight simulator with learning about our world. It's the
        closest that most of us will come to flying in space.
        You can also:

        * Select political or physical style views, and whether
          individual states are shown.
        * Choose the colors used for grids, cities, and boundaries.
        * Measure the accurate distance between any points on Earth,
          not just major cities.
        * Change the time to see when the sun will rise or set, anywhere.
        * Watch the cities light up when the sun sets.
        * Test your knowledge with the Quiz function.
        * Get help at any time from the menus of the program.

        A prototype version of On Top Of The World was shown at the
        Educational Software Fair at the Museum of Science in Boston
        in March, 1993, and at the Boston Computer Society Mega Meeting
        in April. The finished version has many refinements, improvements,
        and new features. Many of these were suggested by our museum
        and BCS visitors. Here are some of the improvements that are in
        the finished version:

        * Improved speed and reliability.
        * The graphical user interface is simpler and easier to use.
        * Most keyboard functions can also be done with the mouse and icons.
        * Find any of 5000 geographic features from anywhere, by typing
          a partial name.
        * Identify those 5000 features, including oceans and seas, by
          clicking on the screen.
        * Display a screen full of information about any country,
          or US state.
        * Display the correct local time for any place on Earth,
          just by clicking on the location.
        * Display the shortest great circle route between any two
          points on Earth.
        * Automatically simulate the view from a spacecraft orbiting
          the Earth.
        * Export views of the Earth as a standard PCX graphics file,
          for use in school or business reports.
        * You can launch On Top Of The World from DOS or Microsoft Windows.

        On Top Of The World requires:

        * An IBM/DOS PC with 386 processor or better.
        * VGA  graphics
        * A mouse
        * 1 megabyte of RAM
        * 7 megabytes of hard disk space.

        On Top Of The World is appropriate for adults, and any child
        old enough to use a globe or atlas. The human interface is
        easy enough so that even a young child can learn the basics
        in minutes.

        On Top Of The World is available by mail order. We are offering
        it for a special introductory price of $49.95, which includes
        shipping within the USA. The kit includes four high density 3.5"
        diskettes, a license for use on a single computer, and a booklet
        with complete instructions and an introduction to geographical
        concepts.

        After January 31, 1994, the price of On Top Of The World will
