Motorola and GeoWorks Announce Plans to Provide EMBARC on GEOS Platform

Boynton Beach, Fla. (June 3,1993) - Motorola, Inc. and GeoWorks today
announced intentions to develop Motorola's EMBARC wireless communications
compatibility for GeoWorks' GEOS operating system platform, which will
provide wireless electronic mail and data to the emerging new category of
personal computing and communication devices.

GEOS is the leading, object oriented, graphical operating system
specifically designed for the emerging class of compact personal digital
assistants (PDAs) and consumer computing devices. It will be licensed to
OEM manufacturers for a wide range of hardware devices. The Zoomer PDA,
introduced today by Casio, Inc. and Tandy Corporation, is the first device
publicly announced using the GEOS platform.

EMBARC (Electronic Mail Broadcast to a Roaming Computer), a part of
Motorola's Paging and Wireless Data Group, is a wireless electronic mail
network that delivers wireless messages, data and file transfers to one or
multiple mobile computer users simultaneously.

EMBARC running under the GEOS platform will allow future GeoWorks OEM
licensees to offer EMBARC services, an especially important feature for
mobile computers and PDA devices.

"Motorola is a leader in wireless products and services and GeoWorks is
delighted to work closely with them. EMBARC under GEOS will provide a
solid communications solution for the mobile market," said Brian
Dougherty, chief executive officer of GeoWorks. "Our relationship will
extend the range of communications services available to OEM and end user
customers of the GEOS platform."

"GeoWorks' ability to provide low-cost, high functionality solutions to
portable, lightweight devices presents EMBARC with a great opportunity,"
said Steve Brendle, vice president and general manager of EMBARC
Communications Services Inc. "With the GEOS operating system platform we
can enter new, exciting markets, such as mass volume PDA products and
other future consumer computing devices."

EMBARC Communication Services Inc., wholly owned by Motorola, Inc., is a
wireless electronic mail system with service to more than 220 cities
across the United States and Canada.
